SHE-WOLF OF LONDON - "Crazed Thing Of Evil" (1946)

It's time for a Saturday Night Special Classic in The Dungeon!

"She-Wolf Of London" was a Universal release five years after the success of "The Wolf Man," but the only problem was there was no big, bad wolf! I hate to break it to you, but I guess after 72 years, it's no secret that "She-Wolf Of London," although classic, is not a monster movie at all, but is really just a mystery movie!

The Allenby Curse was almost forgotten until somebody remembered it was just made up in the first place!

Nice pair of boobies, I mean bobbies! It's so easy to get confused!

June Lockhart is Phyllis Allenby! June Lockhart has 80 gazillion credits, but in my mind, will be most remembered for two!! She was Ruth Martin in 207 episodes of "Lassie," and she was Maureen Robinson in 84 episodes of "Lost In Space!" June is still going, and will be 93 in June of this year! Her last appearance was in 2016! What a gal!

Phyllis Allenby goes to sleep, somebody gets killed in the night, and when she wakes up, her shoes are caked with mud! She's having severe doubts about her sanity!

"She-Wolf Of London" is a rarity in the fact that it has an almost all female cast!

One of the few males in the story is Martin Kosleck as Dwight Severn! Martin would go on to be the supreme bad guy in one of The Dungeon's top fave movies, "The Flesh Eaters!" He might also hold the record for being in the most shows with alphabets in their title like, "Agent For H.A.R.M.," "The Girl From U.N.C.L.E.,""The Man From U.N.C.L.E.," and "The F.B.I.!"

In this film, Martin isn't much more than a victim!

Don't drink the warm milk Phyllis, or you're going to wake up with mud on your shoes again!

The other three main female characters are Jan (The Brute Man) Wiley as Carol Winthrop!

Eily (The Undying Monster, I Married A Witch) Malyon as housekeeper Hannah!

And Sara (Mad Love) Haden as Martha Winthrop! Sara was also in a 1943 film called "The Youngest Profession," which sounds crude by today's standards, but wasn't back then, that had a cast that also included Scotty Beckett and Agnes Moorehead! And how's this for weird, June Lockhart was on "Lassie" for seven years, and Sara Haden's uncredited role in "The Youngest Profession" was named Sister Lassie! I don't know about you, but I smell forgotten conspiracy!

Too much weird stuff going on, so Phyllis decides to do some research of her own on the topic of Lycanthropy!
Unfortunately, werewolves are not the problem! Greed is the problem!!

Now is this a fantastic shot or what? If you want to watch something that has a story that is predominately about women, "She-Wolf Of London" is a good choice, clocks in at sixty-one minutes, and would be a good alternative to watching those G.L.O.W. reruns again!

MORE GREAT MOVIE MONSTER MODELS

Since it's Friday the 12th, well, that means time for More Great Movie Monster Models to drool over!.. So, Enjoy!!

We start with FROM HELL IT CAME. Now, that's what I call a great movie monster!! I tried to find EEGAH!! in model form, but with no luck... What The Hell, Man?!!

Wow, nice model for THE HORROR OF PARTY BEACH, you can get a good look at all the fine detail the artist put into the piece.

Here's a wild version of the Rat-Bat-Spider Monster from THE ANGRY RED PLANET! Besides this nightmare, there were other great monsters in this freaky movie, one Eegah!! and I saw together at the show back in the day!

THE BLACK SCORPION is another great movie monster, here it is picking up a tank, showing its awesome dominance over puny humans!

Check out this super cool model for THE COLOSSUS OF NEW YORK! Man, I remember seeing this crazy movie when it came out in 1958, it was something else!

This model for THE GREEN SLIME is eye popping, those colors really compliment that great design. Super nice piece!

Holy crap, check out this wild scene from THE KILLER SHREWS, poor old Jerry gets his just desserts as the shrews jump his sorry ass!!

Here's the FIRST MAN INTO SPACE model. Man, I wonder how many craters the artist had to render into that full figure?.. Wowzers!!

The post just wouldn't be complete without ROBOT MONSTER! What a fun low-budget blend of jungle and science fiction, with that helmet, he's obviously from another world!

Saw THE HIDEOUS SUN DEMON in 1959, it was pretty creepy at the time. Dungeon Pal Robert Clarke was definitely part of the Monster Craze of the Fifties!!

Well then, that's it for today, but, we're back tomorrow with more Dungeon Cargo for you!..

CREATURES FROM "GRIMM" Season One (2011)

When you live on a steady diet of the past, you have a tendency to miss out on what's happening in the present time, and by the time you finally get around to it, it's the past again! Well, that's how I feel about the TV series "GRIMM." I didn't even know it existed until a month or so ago, or as Jimi would say, "I don't live today, maybe tomorrow, I just can't say!"

So, for those of you living under a rock like me, here's a handful of some of the creatures from the first half of Season One of "GRIMM" from 2011. This is really as far as I have got! Running for six seasons with up to 22 shows a season, I might never get caught up unless I do nothing else for a while!! A lot of time it slips into being a regular cop TV show, but the rest of the time, it's not too bad, and quite imaginative, especially as far as the monsters are concerned, and it's difficult to find good monsters these days!

This guy is one of the main characters! He's part of the Blutbaden family, which is basically a werewolf more or less!

This is what a dead Blutbad predator looks like!

This is a Hexenbiest, better known as a witch! A witch doesn't really seem to fit in with all the animals, but I guess if you consider that it's Grimm's Fairy Tales and not Animal Planet, it makes sense!

The Jägerbär is part of the bear family!

The Mellifers are akin to bees!

The Ziegevölk is a horny goat!!

The Reinigen is a seedy rodent, or a dirty rat!

A Bauerschweine is a pig that likes to take mud baths! Of course, this one is also a cop!!

The Fuchsbau is related to the fox! Watch out for those claws!!

The Siegbarste is another creature that is not an animal but is prevalent in fairy tales, the big ass ogre! This is one tough thick skinned sumbitch!!

The Lausenschlange snake dude is pretty creepy! Of course, he's a lawyer! What else would a snake possibly be?

The Mauzhertz is a mouse, and he's not mighty at all!

This Fuchsbau fox is a little more civilized than that female, until you know what he's really up to!

I'm not real sure about this one, but I think it's another Fuchsbau! His more important role is that of a victim of a Spinnetod!

The Eisbiber is of the beaver family! Man, I sure don't want any artificial butter flavor for my popcorn from his anal glads!

This lovely pair of Spinnetods are vampire spiders that you don't want to have anything to do with! Period!
So I know I'm late to the dance, it's the story of my life, but better later than never, right? I also plan on being late for my funeral! See you Saturday with something special, I guarantee or your money back!

MONSTER MOVIES THAT SCARED ME THE MOST!

Here's a list of movies that scared me the most when I saw them at the theater when they came out, back in the fifties. The list starts with the scariest ones first...

THE BLOB is my number one scary movie, my dad took me to see it when I was just ten years old. When Steve goes back to the doc's house and sees something through the blinds, well, that was enough for me! I sat in the lounge while my dad watched the movie. After about 20 minutes, I went back in to the theater but covered my eyes a lot! I had nightmares for years after that!

Next on my list is THE FLY, when the creature is finally shown, with the twitching and all, well, it literally blew my little mind into bite-sized pieces!!

The ID Monster in FORBIDDEN PLANET was both mind-boggling and terrifying, wow, getting to see this incredible movie when it came out was a gift from the sci-fi gods!! I was 8 years old.

I also saw TARANTULA when I was 8, it was a creepy movie to start with, but, when I caught a glance of Leo here, right before the monster gets him, well, I almost fainted. That face haunted me for years!!

Again, I was only 8 when I saw INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS. I swear, this movie was so tense and shocking that it just left me with a feeling of supreme dread!

I was 9 years old when I saw the last three movies on the list. I loved KRONOS, it was so unique! But, the creepiest parts had to do with Dr. Eliot being possessed by that alien force!!

Saw this one with my neighbors, we sat close to the front and in the center. Whenever the big slobbering scorpion made its closeup, they turned the freakin' sound way up!! It was a totally insane experience!

Lastly is CURSE OF THE DEMON. Wow, talk about a wild ride, the part that really got me was when Dana was leaving the doctor's house at night and walks through the woods with that crazy ball of light chasing him!

Okay then, make sure to check back for more cool stuff from the Dungeon Gang!
