`STARCRASH - "May The Farce Be With You" (1978)

OKAY!!! The time has finally come! The moment you've been waiting for, the Super Saturday Seventies Spectacular Special, "STARCRASH"!!!

Caroline Munro is the stunning Stella Star, and mighty Marjoe Gortner is Akton!! Leave it to the Italians to come up with a cast that includes a one time four year old child evangelist coupled with one of the UK's queens of horror! But we're just getting started......Pretty cool spaceship they've got!!

If you had to pick somebody to be the super slimeball tough guy Count Zarth Arn that wants to rule the universe, Joe (MANIAC) Spinell would have to be the guy at the top of the list!!

Still more leftovers from "Wizard Of Mars," is that even remotely possible? Well, maybe conceptually anyway!

Caroline Munro has had an awesome career! Not only was she Dr. Phibes dead wife Victoria Regina Phibes in both of the Dr. Phibes movies, she was also Naomi in the "The Spy Who Loved Me," and along with Joe Spinell, was in "Maniac" and another film we'll get around to some day, "The Last Horror Film!"

This space skull barbarian shot of Stella Star looks like some kind of classic fantastic Frank Frazetta comic illustration!!

It's said that Caroline Munro and her blonde counterpart Ingrid Pitt were known as the Jane Russell and Marilyn Monroe of UK horror! It's funny how Caroline Munro and Marilyn Monroe sound so similar, but Caroline was the one compared to Jane Russell not Marilyn!

I couldn't find my copy, but I might still have this Caroline Munro 12" single "Pump Me Up" that was produced by Gary Numan around here somewhere! Caroline Munro was never big on posing nude, she didn't need to!!

Caroline and Marjoe are joined on a good part of their journey by the campy robot Elle, who has Judd (The Last Horror Film) Hamilton inside, and whose obnoxious twangy voice in English was provided by actor and folk singer Hamilton Camp, who had a song that hit #76 in 1968 called "Here's To You!" The Pelón Thor was portrayed by Robert (Born Loser Glory Stomper Outlaw Rider) Tessier! Robert rounded out his career in the 1990 feature "Fertilize the Blaspheming Bombshell!"

Stella Star's meeting with this giant amazon robot seemed awfully reminiscent of one one of the Sinbad movies as do Count Zarth Arn's armed robot guards! Caroline Munro also had the role of Margiana in "The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad"

In a very primitive encounter with a bunch of cavemen launched off of trampolines, the robot Elle literally gets his brains bashed in, and Stella is left alone again!

Next up a stylish masked man appears out of nowhere to watch over Stella, and bigger than elephant poop, it's none other than..........

.........The Hoff, in his second ever film production! David Hasselhoff's previous film appearance was in "Revenge Of The Cheerleaders" where he played a character named Boner!

Thor ends up showing his true traitorous colours, and Marjoe has to kick his ass with what appears to be miracles of power! Just in case you wondered, Marjoe's name was derived from a combination of Mary and Joseph!

Just try and sit back, relax, and bask in the beauty of these combined four shots of cinematic wonder!!

Because "Starcrash" is SO bad, I can easily say it's one of the best flicks I've seen this year! Just like Joe Spinell in most of his films, it's that bad!! Joe Spinell passed away back in 1989 at the age of 52, from what are still undetermined causes!

Probably the most disappointing element of "Starcrash" is the uninspiring music by the genius John (Can you say James Bond?) Barry!! It is so brutally Star something else, it will keep your mind in wonder!

The gorgeous Caroline Munro looks so much like Spongebob's friend Sandy Cheeks in this final picture that it has left me speechless!!!

"Starcrash," what a fantastic giant heap of steaming dung, and what a great movie!!!!

THE GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD - Ray Harryhausen - "The Miracle Of Dynarama!" (1973)

Welcome to another Wild and Woolly Wednesday in The Dungeon!
How's this for a cool Zodiacal poster?
There were four Sinbad movies from 1958 to 1977. "The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad" was number three. The second film in the group titled simply "Captain Sinbad" in 1963 was done by a completely different production company from the other three, and is the only one that has no connection to Ray Harryhausen! Four different good looking guys played Sinbad in those four movies, Kerwin Mathews, Guy Williams, John Phillip Law, and Patrick Wayne!

"The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad" is basically a 15 year old sequel to the 1958 feature, "The 7th Voyage Of Sinbad!"

There's lots of hocus pocus mumbo jumbo, because otherwise, there would be no story!

"The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad" has a solid cast that includes Tom (Dr. Who) Baker as Koura, an evil man with the power to create life like this little fellah!

"The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad" is basically a puzzle story used to showcase the talents of the master of stop motion animation, Ray Harryhausen! Ray also co-wrote and co-produced the film, so it all makes sense!

Dungeon Prom Queen Caroline Munro as slave girl Margiana, is more than happy to leave her master and go out on the high seas of adventure with Captain Sinbad! This movie came right in between "Dr. Phibes Rises Again," and "Captain Kronos - Vampire Killer" in Caroline's career, so now you know why she's the Queen! Caroline has two films set to be released in 2017, "Cute Little Buggers," and "315 Wicked Way!" We hope they slay the box office!

I'm sure the conversation went something like this: Ray Harryhausen says, "Wouldn't it be neat if the wooden figurehead on the front of the ship came alive?" and everybody else says, "Hell Yeah!!"

This is the kind of shot I set as my wallpaper on a regular basis!

Marvel decided to take a chance on Captain Sinbad too. Their "Worlds Unknown" was set to feature science fiction stories, but when it got to number seven, they totally switched gears and went with a Captain Sinbad story! The number eight issue of "Worlds Unknown" also featured a "Golden Voyage Of Sinbad" story! That's as far as it went! There was never an issue #9 or any other titled "Worlds Unknown!"

This comic came from down under, and that explains why it's so much more wild than the other one!

This is one of the most unbelievable group of  'natives' I've ever seen! Looks more like a meeting of the local chapter of the "Alice Cooper Fan Club!"

Douglas (Nayland Smith) Wilmer is a cat named Vizier, and his burden is that he has to wear this metal mask all the time because his face was horribly disfigured  in a fire!

Out of nowhere, Sinbad needs a distraction from the natives, so he tells Vizier to take off the mask, and it scares the living crap out of everybody!

Kali, a real Hindu Goddess, does a mean boog-a-loo at the hands of Ray Harryhausen!

The six-armed Goddess cuts a pretty mean rug, but the fun and games are all over when she sprouts six swords too!

More royal creds for Caroline are "The Abominable Dr. Phibes," "Dracula A.D. 1972," "At The Earth's Core," "The Spy Who Loved Me," "Starcrash," "Maniac," "The Last Horror Film," and "Slaughter High!"

As this Cyclops Centaur lusts after Margiana, I think it's safe to say in retrospect, that this movie was made in 1973, and The Sex Pistols hit the scene in 1975.........

........................and I'm pretty sure this is where Sid Vicious got his hair style from!

Let's have one last round of applause for a damn fine looking couple, John Phillip (Diabolik) Law, and Caroline (Stella Star) Munro!

Ray Harryhausen changed the name of his effects company from Dynamation to Dynarama because I'm sure it sounded more dynamically dynamite! He did the stop motion effects in two more movies after this, "Sinbad And The Eye Of The Tiger" in 1977, and "Clash Of The Titans" in 1981!" He passed away in 2013, and that's it! There will never be another!

DON'T OPEN TILL CHRISTMAS - Caroline Munro - "I'm The Warrior Of Love" (1984)

Well, there ain't much we can do anymore that hasn't been done before; all we can do is put our own spin on it! That being said, tonight's Saturday Night X-Mas Special has been a public domain film for some time even though it was only made in 1984, and why? Well, honestly, who the Hell in modern civilized society wants to see Santa Claus get murdered viciously at least nine times in one movie!? Can you say bummer??
As this German DVD case clearly shows, this is not a film for the kiddies!

I think the general sentiment was don't open this at all, like never, unless.........

Historically, Soho has been a hotbed of entertainment in movies for years!
This go round we have a series of Santa Claus murders, and it's not even written by Edgar Wallace!

I lost count, but I think there are a total of nine Santas that brutally eat it in this movie, and most of them are either drunks or perverts!

There's the Experience Santa, the Theatre Santa, the Dungeon Santa, the Store Santa, the Market Santa, the Circus Santa and more!

Oh, Yeah, Don't forget the sexy birds in Santa outfits!

When the perv Santa gets his just rewards, this peep show gal can't identify the killer because there was so much blood splattered on the glass!

Like they were even trying, this film creates absolutely no sympathy for all the future dead Santas! They're all basically worthless anyway!

Even Santa has to go sometime!

The reindeer are going to go hungry tonight!

Then suddenly out of all this mirth and mayhem comes this scene!

The tantalizing Caroline (Starcrash) Munro as herself does a musical number called "I'm The Warrior Of Love" that just screams 1984!!
This is some seriously WTF!? stuff!!!!

But before the song ends, yet another Santa bites the dust!

It's almost too much for Caroline to take!
Even though she's only in this movie for two or three minutes, I saw a couple of VHS/DVD covers that displayed her name as one of the stars!

In a pretty gruesome yet comical scene, this Santa gets his weenie lopped off!

Sweet component combination turntable and cassette player!

This is where all the animosity towards Santa is revealed!
Seems the kid saw more that just Mama kissing Santa Claus!

And to all a good night!
KA-BLOOEY!!
