GODZILLA AND MOTHRA: The Battle For Earth / 3-Way Monster Stomp! - 1992

One good rumble deserves another, so, here's more from Big G... In today's tale, the Earth is headed for disaster, and when an archaeological research team visits Infant Island to find out why, they discover two tiny women who reveal that the Earth is fighting back for all the harm humans have done there and the evil Battra is sent out to destroy Japan. The Cosmos, as the tiny girls are called, offer their help by calling Mothra to battle the creature. But, Godzilla also appears and a three way battle ensues.

Here's the expedition, minutes away from landing on Infant Island...

They have some adventures, like, falling into a stream after the old bridge breaks!

But, it's worth it when they discover a giant Mothra egg! Arrangements are made to have the egg taken to Japan for study, the Cosmos girls also accompany them.

Battra, in caterpillar form, arrives in Japan and the fireworks begin... Ugly varmint!

The military brings out those destructo ray machines again, but, it's not enough to stop Battra.

Caterpillar Mothra shows up in Japan after a tussle at sea with Battra, where the egg was broken. It finds the Cosmos and they sing to it... It must battle Battra!

Lil' Mothra makes a cocoon and transforms into that big old moth we've come to love!

Battra also transforms into a moth and the fight is on!!.. Another awesome shot of destruction.

After Battra almost kills Mothra, the things have a mind meld and now they are a tag team against their real enemy... Yes, Godzilla!

Big G pummels Mothra yet again, so, Battra grabs the giant Ferris Wheel and drops it on him.

The two moths swirl around Godzilla, Mothra drops dust that puts the big guy to sleep.

The moths grab him and head out to sea, Battra gives its life to accomplish the mission, goodbye! They drop into the sea and the threat ist kaput, well, until next time!

Mothra drops in to pick up the Cosmos girls and they head back to Infant Island, bringing this tale to an end! Check in Wednesday for more, from, The Dungeon!!

This one is much better than the time-traveling guys plot. I rather enjoyed Battra's self-sacrifice at the end, in fact.
