THE WACKY WEED - "Andy Panda" (1946)`

Welcome to Wacky Weed Wednesday, and no, I'm not talking about loco weed or marijuana, this "Wacky Weed" is an Andy Panda cartoon from 1946!

Boy, that really is a whacked out lookin' weed!!

I don't think we ever thank Walter Lantz enough for all his contributions to cartoon land, so this is a good opportunity to do just that!! Thanx Walt! Life would have been a lot more boring without you!

Andy Panda goes to his local nursery to get a flower to plant in his yard, which gives Walt a good chance to do all kinds of jokes and sight gags before the story even gets started! This flower is happy!

These flowers are sad!

This flower is goofy!

You've got your hibiscus and your low biscus!!

For all you horse racing fans, here's a blast from the past, the mighty Sea Biscus! Just in case you don't know, the horse's name was Seabiscuit!

Also known as a Skunk Plant!

I wouldn't mind having a couple of these ice plants!!

Cute little Andy plants his sweet little flower!

This mean and nasty ol' weed has got different ideas about how things work!

You've heard of weeds choking out other plants, well, this is how it works!

Not knowing that the weed's roots are attached to his plumbing, Andy hooks his car up to the weed to pull it out, and ends up pulling out all the pipework in his house!

The weed is bringing out an evil side to Andy we're not used to seeing!

Now it's time to pay!!
Come back on Friday and see what Tabonga has dug up for you!!

BARON BLOOD / Positively The Most Horrifying Film Ever Made... - 1972

In today's story. a young man returns to Austria in search of his heritage, and there, he visits the castle of an ancestor, a sadistic Baron who was cursed to a violent death by a witch whom he had burned at the stake. The young man reads aloud the incantation that causes Baron Blood to return and continue his murderous ways!

This crazy thing stars Joseph (FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON, LATITUDE ZERO, LADY FRANKENSTEIN) Cotten, Elke (THE WRECKING CREW, LISA AND THE DEVIL, THE HOUSE OF EXORCISM) Sommer and a big pile of Euro actors to scream their heads off most of the time!

It starts with Peter and Eva (Elke) finding a place in his ancestor's castle to repeat an incantation to bring back his dead cursed relative... Baron Blood!

Welp, the damn incantation works! And, the Baron is on the loose once again... The first thing he does is pull his trusty blade out and take care of a little unfinished personal business!!

In his human form (Joseph Cotten), he has bought back his old castle. Now, he roams the corridors there, just looking for any kind of trouble that might come his way.

Okay, this guy's next on the list. A nice gruesome hanging is the order of the day!

This poor dude gets a metal spiked coffin lid shut abruptly down on his meaty face!!

Here's a fun look at the Baron's torture dungeon. Makes me think how lucky those filmmakers in Europe are, just look at this goddamn gorgeous set, wow!!

In this scene, he's even out stalking an innocent little five year old girl.

So, Eva, Peter and their friend meet at the castle with the shape shifting creep. Things go okay for a while, until...

The gang find themselves in dire straits!

Eva accidentally drops the magic amulet on the guy who got the spikes in the face.

And, he assumes the power now and the Baron loses his!.. Little baby gonna cry?!

All Hell breaks out when all the people he killed and tortured come back to life and give the Baron a dose of his own medicine!! We're back Wednesday, so, don't miss it...

THE LONE GUNMEN - Episode One - "Pilot" (2001)

Now that Halloween is over, we can get back to more different stuff, and tonight's Saturday Night Special Feature is just that! Different!!

I don't know where I've been half my life, but I sure have missed out on a lot of cool TV shows over the years like "The Lone Gunmen!" Thank The Lord I have a friend in Germany to help  get me up to date on things like this!

"The Lone Gunmen" is the brainchild of the creators of "Breaking Bad," Vince Gilligan, and John Shiban, with the help of Chris Carter, and is a spinoff of "The X-Files," so you know it's got a good chance of being good. I think it was just way ahead of it's time! This is a show about three hackers trying to inform the world about the way things really are, just like the headline of their publication indicates!

As you can imagine, these stories are a bit tongue in cheek, and that's what makes them so good!

This show starts with a big computer corporation announcement of the new latest and greatest chip they've created!

One of  "The Lone Gunmen" is creating a diversion by being a heckler!
The guy with the ponytail is Dean Haglund as Richard 'Ringo' Langly." The other two Gunmen are Bruce Harwood as John Fitzgerald Byers, and Tom Braidwood as Melvin Frohike who is exactly one day older than me! All three of them were the same characters on numerous
"X-Files" episodes!

The reason for the diversion is they have an elaborate plan to get their hands on that new chip!

There's the culprit!

Because this was an early show about computers, you get a lot of shots like this!

Ka-Fn-Blooie!
There's not a lot of violence, because this show is more story than action!

This is a great shot!

She's a pretty good shot herself!
Zuleikha Robinson is Yves Adele Harlow! How's that for a mouthful?

And of course the guys drive a vintage VW bus!

They finally get to have a good headline!!

"The Lone Gunmen" is a pretty good show from what I've seen so far, and now I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the episodes! Too bad it was only on for one season!!
