CRIMINALLY INSANE / aka CRAZY FAT ETHEL - 1975

Last Friday I reviewed SATAN'S BLACK WEDDING, today's post is its double feature, CRIMINALLY INSANE, aka CRAZY FAT ETHEL, from writer/director Nick Phillips. I didn't like SBW at all, but this one is a ton of fun from Hell... The story's about Ethel, the doctors at the psychiatric hospital declare her ready to return to society, so, she goes to live with her grandmother in Oakland. She has an insatiable compulsion to eat massive amounts of food, and when grandma locks away the food supply, Ethel kills her for the keys to the pantry! Left to her own devices, she now indulges her hunger non-stop, murdering anyone who dares to stand in her way!!

It stars Priscilla Alden as Ethel, she racked up 15 acting credits in feature films, direct to video and TV including .357 MAGNUM, DEATH NURSE, MIDNIGHT CALLER and DYING YOUNG. It also stars the versatile George 'Buck' Flower, who ended up with 159 acting credits including parts in SUCKULA, ILSA: SHE WOLF OF THE SS, THE ALPHA INCIDENT, THE TIME MACHINE (TV), THE FOG, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, THE NIGHT STALKER, PUMPKINHEAD and THEY LIVE.

So, here's Ethel at her grandmother's place, she's ready to join society again!..

The first thing she does is go on a non-stop eating binge, here, she cooks a whole package of bacon and wolfs it down before moving on to dessert world!

Anyway, grandma realizes that she can't afford Ethel's unending appetite, so, locks the food in the pantry to be doled out for meals only. Well, Ethel's not too hip on that option so she grabs a wicked carving knife and stabs the crap outta grandma while yelling, "I want that key! I want that key!" A few days later, she kills the grocery boy when she didn't have the money to pay for the food he was delivering!

Ethel's sister shows up, she'll be staying there for awhile...

Oh yeah, and she's a prostitute... She brings this gnome home for a drunken night of sex. I was noticing the guys jacket, first of all, it's too big for a shrimp, and, it's metallic blue which just seems odd for a little wallflower...

Anyway, Ethel has deep-sixed a few more people at this point. The bodies are all stored in grandma's bedroom and are starting to stink to high Hell! She tries to dig some graves in the back yard but a nosy neighbor makes it impossible.

Then, sis brings home her boyfriend/pimp to stay for awhile. They flaunt their lifestyle (they're snorting coke) in front of Ethel as she just keeps on eating away...

But, Ethel goes and kills both of them in bed with a meat clever while they sleep!

Ethel celebrates by dressing up in a red silk gown and running through the park! This scene is so bizarre I can't describe it, the birds flying in the background is just surreal.

Grandma's room is getting really noxious, Ethel gets out the air freshener and sprays the whole can while she has a snack. It sill stinks horribly.

She decides to get rid of the bodies at the ocean but someone is always coming by and she has to abort the mission. Back at the ranch, she leaves the trunk open when she drags her bag with a body in it back up the stairs to the house...

Another nosy neighbor want's to get a look inside the trunk and sees a bloody mannequin hand with a broken off bird finger! She screams like a banshee and calls the cops! I wonder... Did the make up department actually sign off on that hair style?..

So, a copper goes to Ethel's place and finds her in grandmother's room, snacking on the corpses!! It seems like the best way to get rid of the bodies!! Funny flick!

KAMEN RIDER GIRLS - "O.K Alright" (2015)

Welcome to another Weirdo Wednesday the 13th in The Dungeon! I don't know what the Hell I was doing but a couple of weeks ago I stumbled on this music video that I normally wouldn't have even noticed or paid any attention to, but............I have to admit that these girls are of a different ilk! I had no idea what the name of the group was, and most information is in Japanese, but as I searched around, I found this group of  cute gals is known as Kamen Rider Girls, and each one of them wears a  transformation belt that represents one of The Kamen Riders! The whole series of "Kamen Raidâ" stories started back in 1971, then in 1973 they came out with Kamen Rider V3, followed by Kamen Rider X, and Kamen Rider Amazon in 1974, then Kamen Rider Stronger in 1975 etc etc. I think you get the idea. They keep on going year after year some twenty something times, right up to last year! Despite all that, the show has never really had any success in America!

This is Kamen Rider Blade, so this young lady should be Nao Yasuda who left the group in 2016.

Since this is Kamen Rider Fourze, this gal should be Mitsuki Endo, who moved on last year!

Kamen Rider Gaim's matching companion is Tomomi Jiena Sumi, and she is still with the group.

Kamen Rider Kiva's girl is Kaori Nagura who left in 2015.

And Kamen Rider Wizard's friend is Chisato Akita, who is also still with the group!

It's too complicated for me to figure out much more. Sometimes there are five Kamen Rider Girls, and sometimes there are six or seven!

Here is a true statement, "Girls be Ambitious!"

So here you go, this song is called
"O.K Alright!"
and you can watch the video by clicking that link!

I'm old, and I don't really like blaring repetitive electro dance music with vocals that are most likely mimed, but this is one Helluva song, and the shredding metal guitars are a nice touch! I have no doubt this group is every bit as contrived as The Village People, KISS, or The Spice Girls, but I like their spirit, and they might be fake as Hell, but at least they're giving out a positive message, and what bundles of energy!

The message is clear, "Believe and move forward!"

"Even if you're fucking depressed!"

"Roll up your sleeves, and go your own way!"

And don't forget to "Get Bounce!"

"Ok, alright, Just do your best, and never be satisfied!"

It's an ugly, amorose and somber world these days, and I enjoyed watching some people at least pretend to have fun, cause this world needs to lighten up in more ways than one!

So "Go to your dreams!" with the Kamen Rider Girls! What have you got to lose?
 "Just do your best!"

MILICENT PATRICK / Creator of Classic Fifties Universal Movie Monsters!

It's time to pay some respect to artist Milicent Patrick, she worked at Universal Studios in the fifties and was the amazing creator of three of their classic monsters!!... You go girl! Milicent was a commercial artist, fashion designer and illustrator of children's books when she was not acting in feature roles and television, she accumulated 28 acting credits including roles in WESTWARD THE WOMEN, WE'RE NOT MARRIED!, ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET CAPTAIN KIDD, MAN WITHOUT A STAR, LUST FOR LIFE and THE PINK JUNGLE. She went steady with actor George Tobias for forty years, until his death in 1977!

First up is her Xenomorph from IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE in 1953, undoubtedly a real shocker when it showed up on the screen for the audiences that were lucky enough to see it originally in freakin' 3-D!!

Also in 1953, she designed the great monster mask for ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE. Her design seems to be the model for the masks used in TARANTULA! and MONSTER ON THE CAMPUS.

Then in 1954, Milicent designs her most famous creation, CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, which appears in a whopping three movies! Secondly, it gets its revenge, then thirdly, it walks among us! Behold!.. THE CREATURE!!

Wow, what an imagination Milicent had, really amazing concepts! In 1955, she designs the Metaluna Mutant that tormented Faith Domergue in THIS ISLAND EARTH. In my sophomore year in high school, I painted a Mutant head for an art show! I wonder what people thought when they saw it...

Here she is on the set touching up the Creature before its big scene.

Here she is at her art table with her creations surrounding her...

She got to hang out with people like Kirk Douglas while doing her illustrations!

We'll end with this photo, hey, Milicent loves monsters too!!.. Eegah!! warned me about Wednesday's post, I certainly wouldn't want to miss that one!
