Since Tabonga! is having more technical difficulties, we go to plan 6. In other words, here are some cool Serial Movie Posters from days past...
We start with FLASH GORGON CONQUERS THE UNIVERSE from the thirties, Buster Crabbe was probably my favorite actor when I was growing up in the fifties.
Judd Holdren stars in THE LOST PLANET, CONQUEROR OF SPACE in the fifties. Shown is the poster for chapter 5, "The Atomic Plane!"
Also from the fifties came RADAR MEN FROM THE MOON, featuring the rocket-pack flying hero, Commander Cody.
But, before that came KING OF THE ROCKET MEN from the late forties, starring Tristram (FLIGHT TO MARS) Coffin and Mae (FRANKENSTEIN) Clarke.
Here's a nice poster from THE BATMAN from 1943 starring Lewis Wilson, who only had 16 acting credits, but ended up in THE THREE STOOGES FOLLIES in archive footage in 1974.
In 1948, Columbia brought us our Man Of Steel, SUPERMAN, starring Kirk Alyn.
Great poster for RETURN OF CAPTAIN MARVEL from the early forties starring Tom Tyler. Tom ended up with a whopping 183 acting credits.
Also from the early forties came THE GREEN HORNET STRIKES AGAIN! It stars Warren Hull as Green Hornet and the popular Keye Luke as Kato.
Love this poster for THE FIGHTING DEVIL DOGS from 1938 starring Lee (FLASH GORDON CONQUERS THE UNIVERSE) Powell, chapter 1... "The Lightning Strikes!"
Then we have DRUMS OF FU MANCHU from 1940, Henry (SECRET AGENT X-9) Brandon plays the title character.
Love this poster for THE SPIDER RETURNS from 1941, Warren Hull stars again in this one as Richard Wentworth, The Spider and Blinky McQuade! What the Hell?!
This is my favorite poster of the lot, PANTHER GIRL OF THE KONGO from 1955, because of that weird looking tentacled monster at the top!
We'll end with this great poster for FLASH GORDON'S TRIP TO MARS from 1938. Buster Crabbe had 113 acting credits, THE ALIEN DEAD was one of his last films... So, there you go, come back tomorrow when we'll have more for you, here, at The Dungeon!

TERRAHAWKS - Season 01, Episode 01 - "Expect The Unexpected" (1983)
"TERRAHAWKS!"
"Expect The Unexpected!" That's exactly what I'm talking about!
"TERRAHAWKS" is another Gerry Anderson production, so one thing you shouldn't expect is real people, even if it's a freakin' emergency!
Alternate titles for "TERRAHAWKS" are:
"Jastrebovi Zemlje!" and......
.....The ever popular ......
"A Brigada Falcão!"
The "TERRAHAWKS" are out to save the world!
We could probably really use them today!
In the year 2020 Earth is under threat from Martian androids who want revenge on the human race. Ironically, Zaeger and Evans didn't predict this was going to happen until the year 2525! The perpetrators are Zelda, (Not to be confused with the video game) her son Yung-star, and her sister Cy-star. (Kind of like "Orphan Black," Sister, Seester, Systar)
A group of defenders is set up on Earth called "TERRAHAWKS," that is top secret to the rest of the world. So, Shhhhhhh!!!
And here they are, the "TERRAHAWKS!"
I'm using the title sequence shots because, frankly, they're better than the stills I would have gotten from the story itself! The actors doing the voices take on multiple characters, like Lt. Hiro is done by Jeremy (always in the kitchen at parties) Hitchin
Lt. Hawkeye is voiced by Robbie (Littlebigplanet video game) Stevens, and Capt. Kate Kestrel is voiced by Anne (Dr. Gemma Corwyn) Ridler!
Capt. Mary Falconer, and the voice of Zelda are both done by Denise (Labyrinth) Bryer!
"Flaming Thunderbolts!"
Dr. Tiger's voice is also done by Jeremy Hitchen!
Wasn't there an 80's alternative band called Zelda and the Zeroids?
If not, there sure should have been!! I guess it's not too late!

TABONGA'S ART INFLUENCED By HORROR And SCI-FI MOVIES
It's time to check out some Tabonga! Art, all influenced by Horror and Sci-Fi Movies! Most are recent pieces, all show how growing up in the Fifties warped my mind and even caused me to assume a monster's name!!.. Enjoy.
First up is THE GIANT CLAW, the atomic space vulture that came to Earth to lay its eggs and take things over with anti-matter trickery!
This alien plant thing was influenced by the creatures in THE ANGRY RED PLANET. You'll notice this one has a bug parasite coming out of its brain!
Here's another plant monster based on DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS. This one is a Fungus Triffid with deadly spores to decimate the puny human race!!
Then, there's this crawling hand from INVASION OF THE SAUCER-MEN, I've made and sold about 8 of these classic Paul Blaisdell creations so far and plan on doing more, they sell like hotcakes!
After doing the Saucer-Men crawling hands, I decided to do my own version. This is another creeping hand but has two eyes, it's actually just as shocking as the Saucer-Men version!
I've sold a pile of these guys, based on the Venusian monster in IT CONQUERED THE WORLD, another classic design by Paul Blaisdell.
Here's a freaky giant atomic-spawned killer clam, based on the ideas in ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTERS, one of my very favorite pieces!
I've done a few of these Meteor Monsters. inspired by the meteor-dust-coated FIRST MAN INTO SPACE. I also used this weird thing in a painting...
Here's an alien rock monster, love rock monsters! The movie I think of when rock monster is mentioned is MISSILE TO THE MOON, they are so kitschy-cool.
This is a Jungle Voodoo Bird, kinda based on the bird thing in CURUCU, BEAST OF THE AMAZON. I just bought a heap of feathers, so, looks like I'll be making monster birds for a while! In fact, I just scored a commission to make a full bodied GIANT CLAW!
I've done quite a few of these nudie jungle gals that are take-offs on VOODOO WOMAN.
This strange little thing was inspired by THE BLOB, done a bunch of these too. I love this piece, I sold it as an LSD HALLUCINATION!
Another BLOB monster, this one's a Tar-Blob that can be found on a distant alien planet!
Here's a very cool monster based on the creatures in THE GREEN SLIME, something you wouldn't want to meet up with in a dark alley! Or actually, anywhere!!
This freaky thing reminds me of the giant monster at the end of THE FLESH EATERS!
ISLAND OF TERROR inspired this piece, it's a slimy flesh-eating atomic mutation horror!
This guy is based on the wild rubber creatures featured in THE OUTER LIMITS series, I've made about 10 of them, they're always fun to build.
I've done a ton of robots too, mainly based on the DALEK bots, I think it looks cool to put eyeballs and teeth on them, makes 'em extra weird!
This totally freaked out crawling monstrosity was inspired by the British movie, ASYLUM. Remember the freezer scene with the attacking body parts?
I'm cheating on this one a bit... I got the idea from comic god, Basil Wolverton, in his story, THE BRAIN-BATS OF VENUS!
So, hope you enjoyed the show, I definitely enjoyed making these monsters. Join us again on Wednesday when Eegah!! will have another fun post to share with us!
By the way, if you're interested, you can find my artwork for sale on eBay, my seller name is 'bongo52' if you want to check them out!

BOOBS AND BIMBOS Part Two: "Bimbo's Auto" (1954)
Tonight's Saturday Night Special hails from Australia, circa 1954, and is Part Two in our Boobs and Bimbos series! This Bimbo is not to be confused with the dog in the Betty Boop cartoons, because the only thing they have in common is that they're both cartoons!
Those damn apostrophes are always going around and changing meanings! They all need to be arrested!
Bimbo's car has been pissing him off!!
Time is running out Bimbo!
For some reason, when it came to the car's bloodshot eye, they added a lot more detail!
Bimbo's olde car is very unhappy when it gets taken to the junk yard! But as it turns out, his new car has a read bad attitude problem, and is much worse!
I don't know about bimbos, but they sure have got some pissed off cars down under!
