13 GREAT SPOOK SHOW POSTERS

So, I got my post ready last night only to discover on the third double check that I already did that post! Since it was such a crap movie I was relieved that I didn't have to do it. Then, I went through my weird poster file and went online to grab a few more for the post. While doing that I came across a bunch of SPOOK SHOW posters and decided to showcase some of them instead, it's like a happy accident...

This one is my favorite of the batch, the images of all the monsters are simply terrific!

This one is for a Friday The 13th Spook Party, definitely the kind of party I like!

Here's one that features Dr. Silkini's Spiritualistic Séance and Ghost Show where women should be accompanied by male escorts!

They bring in Dr. Jekyll to host this Weird Show featuring good old Frankenstein in person!

This time it's Francisco and His Big Midnight Spook Frolic with Mystery and Laughs.

Here's another great Friday the 13th Spook Show poster with a Witch brewing up trouble.

A nice Friday the 13th Midnight Jinx Show poster from 1953 featuring the movies DRACULA and GHOST CATCHERS.

Love this eye popping Horror Film Fest from 2011, green and red are great colors used here.

Wow, here's a nice poster featuring a skeleton, a tarantula and two black cats!

A Spook Show poster with a skeleton couple and their little ghostly kid!

Alright!.. A Halloween Spooks On Our Stage Show touting some Thrills & Chills for you!

Dracula leaves Hollywood to make an appearance for the showing of HOUSE OF THE LIVING DEAD!

Here's a great example of recent Spook Show poster presented by Museum Of The Weird - Check in tomorrow when Eegah!! will have yet another movie to check out, just for you!..

SWING YOU SINNERS! - Sam Coslow & W. Franke Harling (1930)

In 1930 Max Fleischer made one of the most bizarre cartoons of all time, and it was called "Swing You Swingers!"  So if you think you're hip enough, then hang on to your beret, and we'll just find out! The killer music in this strange little cartoon was created by Sam Coslow and W. Frank Harling whose music has been used in movies for decades! Among a massive host of other things, Sam wrote the classics "Everybody Loves Somebody," and "Cocktails For Two," and Franke was responsible for the music in tons of films and serials like "The Invisible Ray," and "Tailspin Tommy In The Great Air Mystery!" The original title of the song was "Sing, You Sinners," instead of "Swing You Sinners!"

Bimbo is up to no good, and gets caught red handed stealing a chicken!

He goes to a graveyard, and the gates close behind him effectively sealing him in!

And then it all begins.......after that, "Swing You Sinners" is just a bunch of different haunted characters randomly thrown at Bimbo!

This Grave Guy looks like his breath would smell pretty bad!

What the Hell are these, Cyclops-Seal-Mermaid-Ghosts?

Looks like Satan himself decided to show up!

Hey Bimbo, we've got a room waiting just for you!

If that's not nightmarish eough for you, then how about.....

......A giant chicken reminiscent of "The Giant Claw!"

This guy looks very familiar!

Ghosts living in the stairwell!

If the ghost chasing Bimbo with a horn isn't weird enough for you, what's up with the little guy?

Straight razors always make for good comedy fodder!

A pre-fab mobile monster!

The creatures and the characters just keep on rolling in!

And they keep getting weirder!

And weirder!

And Weirder!

And even weirder!

This cartoon is approximately 8 minutes long, but it looks like they had enough ghosts to on for hours! In case you want to watch the whole thing, and I do recommend that, then here's the Youtube link, and thanx to McSchwartz for posting it!

TABONGA'S MOVIE MONSTERS And MORE!

Back in 1960 Eegah!! and I started collecting monster magazines, FAMOUS MONSTERS was the very best of the publications and coupled with the great movies from the fifties, I started my very weird career in monsters by being stuck in the past for my inspiration. Here are some of my pieces to prove my point...

This piece was obviously inspired by Paul Blaisdell's tree monster in FROM HELL IT CAME. But, I thought, I'm going to make a female version of the thing, her name is TOBANA...

This is a colored pencil drawing of another one of my favorite fifties movies that I saw at the theater in 1957, THE BLACK SCORPION!

Here's a recent oil painting from THE CRAWLING EYE, love these wild looking aliens!

I just can't get enough of those freaky tentacled cyclops aliens, here's another recent oil painting from THE ATOMIC SUBMARINE.

I also love those crazy creations from THE OUTER LIMITS, these are two standing creatures from this year that were inspired by that great TV series.

Here's one of my meteor monsters, inspired by another favorite, FIRST MAN INTO SPACE.

A piece inspired by Paul Blaisdell's Venusian monster from IT CONQUERED THE WORLD.

Here's a cool monster that looks a lot like the thing in THE QUATERMASS XPERIMENT.

Atomic bomb radiation fallout created this deep sea killer cyclops clam terror!

This is an oil painting of my hybrid being, FRANKENSTEIN FROM SPACE.

Here are two zombie dudes, zombies are always fun to make, you can really mess them up!

And then, there is this creepy crawler that reminds me of the crawling body parts in the Amicus production, ASYLUM. This piece is actually for sale on eBay now, if you're interested in checking it out, search there for... Horror House - SOMETHING YOU DON'T WANT IN YOUR BASEMENT.

I saved this little treat for the end, it's a wild music piece from our Dungeon band, HERMANOS GUZANOS. From 1987, here's... BRAIN EATERS!
