THE INVISIBLE MAN RETURNS / Universal Pictures - 1940

It's Invisible Man Monday with Tabonga, here at The Dungeon!.. Here's the 'sequel' to the 1933 classic that starred Claude Rains, this time Dungeon fave Vincent Price plays the man in the title role... He's baaaack!!

Vinnie plays Geoffrey Radcliffe, framed for the murder of his brother. He has escaped execution with the help of his friend, Dr. Frank Griffin, who slipped him a full syringe of invisibleness. Here, he's made his way back to Helen Manson's place, where he can hide from the authorities who are frantically searching for him.

When I watched this flick on TV back in the fifties, I remember this scene the most. Dr. Griffin's bringing this guinea pig back to the world of the visible.

The copper makes an inquiry at Helen's place where he gets to meet Geoffrey face to bandage!

After he makes a call to headquarters, the cop comes back to find just a pile of clothes, oops!

This is a great part, Geoffrey plays some fantastic pranks on local shyster, Willie Spears, played by Alan Napier. We also remember Alan from CAT PEOPLE, HOUSE OF HORRORS, THE STRANGE DOOR, THE MOLE PEOPLE, ISLAND OF LOST WOMEN and PREMATURE BURIAL.

What a work of art!!

Dr. Griffin and Helen are concerned about the side effects of the invisibility formula and have a plan to prevent full dementia from setting in.

Geoffrey escapes and tracks down Richard Cobb, crooked mine boss, he ends up being dumped out of a coal car and gets deaded.

On the run and nearly insane, Geoffrey takes this scarecrow's clothes and heads back into town to find Dr. Griffin.

The doctor's new serum works and we finally get to see Vinnie's face!

TIMESTALKERS - "It's Way Past Time To Kill The Future" (1987)

It's not often I delve past the 70's, but tonight's feature is an extra special affair, so climb on board, and set your co-ordinates for 1987!

It's called "Timestalkers," and it's a 1987 TV movie about time traveling that has an stellar cast! It's not the best or the worst movie in the world, being neither great nor horrible, but it is special for a couple of reasons! The executive producer of "Timestalkers" was none other than Bill Hole, the guy who directed two of The Dungeon's favourite movies, "The Ghost Of Dragstrip Hollow," and "The Devil's Hand!"

"Timestalkers" stars Bill (The Dark Knight Rises) Devane as Scott McKenzie, a college professor fixated on the olde west!

In the opening scenes, Scott McKenzie's wife and son are killed in a fiery auto accident!

About a year or so later, Scott and his pal go to a western auction and buy these two chests!

Inside the larger trunk, the one that has the bullethole in it, there's an olde tintype photographe, and the time differential sequences begin! Enter Klaus Kinski as gungslinger Dr. Jospeh Cole!

Upon closer scrutiny, Scott Mckenzie realizes the gun in the photo was actually made in the 1980's, so he naturally figures the photographe is phony!

But then................Maybe not!

Enter Lauren (Once Bitten) Hutton as Georgia Crawford, a woman from 600 years in the future!

So what's the deal? Georgia and Dr. Cole are both from the future, and he's going back to the past in order to change history because he's pissed at her Father, and she's traveling through time to try and stop him!!

So now we come to the best part of this movie! Back in the past, a small gang of cowboys are partying down by the olde waterhole, and bigger than shit, I'll be damned if that isn't Tabonga there on the right in an un-credited role! He probably should have won some award for those chicken skin lookin' long johns, but we've never had that kind of luck!

Tabonga has told me that Klaus Kinski was all kinds of crazy on the set! Considering most of the roles Klaus had over the years, it would be pretty difficult to imagine that he wasn't a very strange man in real life too! Klaus is forever enshrined in the Dungeon Hall of Fame, and this is a great shot of him!

For some odd reason, 600 years in the future looks like a 1970's disco!

He looks great here, but this was the last movie Forrest Tucker would ever make, in fact, he passed away about 5 months before it was released! Forrest Tucker was in "The Abominable Snowman," "The Strange World Of Planet X," "The Crawling Eye," and will always be remembered by connoisseurs of 60's TV as Sgt. Morgan O'Rourke in the cowboy sitcom "F Troop!"

I actually liked this part of the movie a lot! Forrest Tucker's character was a wise olde gentleman named Texas John Cody, whose collection of historical cowboy songs provide clues that help solve this whole mystery!

It doesn't take much at all for Klaus Kinski to look like a complete and total train wreck! For some people it's just an inherent natural ability, and Klaus was one of the masters!

CAPULINA CONTRA LOS MONSTRUOS / Panorama Films - 1974

It's time for some Capulina comedy that has the Frankenstein Monster, Dracula, Wolfman and the Mummy, Mexican style, with Tabonga, here at The Dungeon!.. We've already reviewed movies starring Capulina many times before, so, use our search feature to see more of him!

Capulina runs a newspaper and magazine shack, about every minute there's something weird going on! Looks like 1974 was the high water mark year for short skirts in Mexican cinema!

Capulina is a friend to kids, since their minds have about equal maturity/immaturity levels. They're out trick or treating on Halloween and what else, Capulina ends up in a cemetary chased by two midgets in masks!

Capulina met this mad scientist at the news shack and has been invited to visit there...

He ends up a guinea pig in an experiment, natcherly!

Then, left alone in the lab, Capulina 'mistakenly' lets the Monstruos out of their cells.

The Monstruos chase Capulina into the streets and into a bed and bath shop. He teaches them the thrill of a good pillow fight!

The Mummy breaks Capulina out of jail!

Frankie tows this car all by hisself!

The kids and Capulina's girlfriend also get caught up in the action!

The Monstruos end up the good guys by preventing a crime friom happening!!

*Just a footnote, we now have a whopping 850 Members of The Weirdo Film-Illogical Society!!!

SUSPENSE - Season 1, Episode 7 - "A Night At An Inn" (Apr 26, 1949)

Welcome to Weirdass Wednesday! Set the 'Wayback Machine' to 1949 and a weekly TV show that aired on Tuesdays called SUSPENSE!

I actually thought Auto-Lite only made spark plugs, but I guess back in the day, they were manufacturing everything from bumpers to hubcaps! No wonder they're still in business!

The announcer and host was Rex (Tom Corbett, Space Cadet) Marshall!

The set for this episode titled "A Night At An Inn" was a place called the "Ye Last Hope Inn!"

This episode is especially special because it featured none other than Dungeon hero Boris Karloff! You know, as a kid, I wanted to see everything that Boris was ever in, but since there was no IMDB back then, I had no idea what an undertaking it would be. Tonight's feature brings me one step closer to that goal!

This is essentially a stage play, and the other three members of the ensemble were Anthony (Kiss Of Death) Ross, Jack (Lights Out) Manning, and Barry (Revenge Of The Zombies) Macollum, a sleazy bunch for sure!

If it seems a little crude, just remember, back in 1949, only about one in every ten people in the United States had even ever seen a TV set, so getting stuff like this into people's homes was a high tech scientific miracle!

I just like this shot of Boris! What a guy!!

The guys were responsible for stealing a ruby from a statue in India, and have been worried about it ever since, then they start getting bumped off, one by one!

You know the olde adage, "Thou Shall Not Steal," and oh, yeah, "Payback Is A Bitch!"

As the leader of the gang, Boris is quite disgusted with the whole situation! SUSPENSE was on for 6 years from 1949 to 1954 and besides Boris featured other outstanding talents like Bela Lugosi, Basil Rathbone, and Paul Newman, and the whole first season streams on Netflix if you've got nothing better to do on a cold and dreary winter's night!
