DAWN OF THE MUMMY - Like a Tribute to Shuki Levy (1981)

Here's a good one for all you Mummy lovers out there! In a crapshell, here's what's going on! A high fashion photo shoot interrupts the unearthing and grave robbing of an ancient Egyptian tomb, which in turn, awakens the minions of the dead, who then dig their way back to life just in time to terrorize a local wedding party, before getting blown to kingdom come, and then some, maybe even to Hell and back!!!

Israeli composer Shuki Levy gets credit for setting the mood. Shuki was half of the European pop rock duo "Shuki & Aviva" in the 1970's.

Shuki Levy is one of the most prolific composers for TV and movies of all time, is still working today, and besides composing for way too many cartoons than I can list, he also gets credit as partner with Haim Saban in helping create the phenomomen of "The Power Rangers!" Period!

Make way, coming through with the pizzas you ordered!!

Ellen Faison as model Melinda, and Diane Beatty as model Joan needed some good background music for their shoot!! As far as I know, there was never a soundtrack released for this movie, I hope that Shuki doesn't mind if we showcase a little taste of his amazing work right here as a tribute to his awesome work over the years!!

Here you go, it's time for snippets and bits of "Dawn Of The Mummy"!!!! It's kinda like a movie trailer for what's left of your mind!! Whoa!! That's one ugly lookin' Mummy!! Good place for one of those, "Your Mummy's so ugly, even the dog wouldn't eat it" jokes!!

Introducing, The Dead!!!! They've been asleep a long time, and boy, are they hungry!! If just having zombies coming up at you in the desert, in the middle of the night, wasn't bad enough, let's throw in a few large cacti to make it even more uncomfortable!!

Aw, who cares?? Not John Salvo, as the model, Gary, in his mind, there's still time left for a Hootenanny and a Hookah Hullaballoo!

Meanwhile, Joan Levy as Jenny decided to go out shopping!! Should have stayed out of the bargain district Jenny!!

The guy who owned the Hookah House was also getting married, I'll just say, it doesn't really work out to well after all the dead boys crash the party and decide to munch down on the bride!(This is a dancer, not the bride, or the zombies would have been kept busy longer!!)

Barry Sattels as Rick went on to have quite a nice career in TV, and in this scene, he really thinks he's going to finally get the gold!! As Bill Cosby used to say, "Right!!"

Great seriously ugly makeup job by Maurizio Trani with help from Hassan Taha!

The stupid dead party crashers spoil the party again! This movie goes from laffs to guts in a few seconds time!! Those dead people are just out of control, I wouldn't even bother trying to socialize with them, I've tried reaching out before, but it's just not worth the effort!! Have a good weekend, but be careful who you hang with!!
