SANTO EN EL HOTEL DE LA MUERTE - "Santo In The Hotel Of Death" (1963)

I've admired this poster for years, and now I have finally got to see the movie, and that's just how it works around here. Tonight's Wild Wednesday feature from South of the border is "Santo en el Hotel de la Muerte," or "Santo In The Hotel Of Death!"

Cool poster, cool title, cool movie, even if it was in Spanish with no sub-titles, I dug it just the same!

The music in this pachanga loco was written by the Maestro Enrico C. Cabiati who has 124 composing credits, many of which are for Santo movies!
Here's just a taste of  the hot sauce that Enrico could cook up!

It's never too soon for a drum solo!

 AAAAAaaaahhhhhkkrreennngggg!!!!

This is just the first of many women who are not going to make it to the end of this movie!

"Got to scrape the shit right off yer shoes!"

I don't think this is what she meant when she said she wanted to check out!

I almost forgot this was a Santo movie, 35 minutes in, and finally Ana Bertha Lepe calls out for some room service from Santo!

Turns out that Santo has been busy thinking about important stuff, like his next match!

This is seriously one of the strangest shots I've seen lately!

Subliminal message: I could use a shot of good tequila right about now!

I don't know about you, but my Tequila of choice these days is Exotico! It's relatively inexpensive, tastes excellente, and has a cool label that goes along with this movie quite nicely!

 Drum roll please!!

What the heck? Another dead girl? What, is this like a Hotel of Death or something?

Voice on the radio: ¿Qué Pasa?

From my calculations, this is the 24th Santo movie we've delved into! Santo only shows up when he's needed, or when he wants to!

So, what do you suppose these creepers are peeping at?

I'll give you one guess!! A room full of senoritas getting ready for bed!

Is this not the grimiest laboratory you've ever seen? Jeez, hire a maid or something!

Finally, Santo is unmasked and his real identity is exposed once and for all!!
Fake Out, it's not really Santo at all, but some other hombre!

Very effective shot of Santo's car, a cloudy sky, and a pyramid!

Adios amigos! Nos vemos el Sábado!!!

THE OUTER LIMITS: 'Behold ECK!' / Season 2 Episode 3 - 1964

In today's story, a strange two-dimensional alien inadvertently causes a pile of havoc in Los Angeles. The thing is stranded in our three-dimensional world and only with the help of a mild-mannered optician and his secretary can it get back to its own dimension.

This episode stars Peter (THE 5,000 FINGERS OF DR. T) Lind Hayes as Dr. James Stone, Joan (PANIC IN YEAR ZERO!, TOWER OF LONDON) Freeman as Elizabeth Dunn, Parley (THE BRASS BOTTLE) Baer as Dr. Bernard Stone and Douglas (KING DINOSAUR, BLACK ZOO) Henderson as Detective Lt. Runyan.

Dr. Stone is an expert in corrective lenses, he has developed lenses made of silica from a meteorite. When he puts the glasses on in his lab, he sees something from another world, and it creates a menacing electrical vortex in the room, then disappears!

While watching the news on TV, Dr. Stone notices a story about some unknown force that has cut a freakin' skyscraper in half no less!!..

After seeing the image of the creature on the tube, the doctor puts his glasses back on for another encounter with... ECK!

Elizabeth and the doctor's brother now get to behold... ECK!

The doctor can communicate with ECK! and learns how it was stuck in this dimension. It's a pretty nice monster once you get to know it!

Anyway, the problem has to do with its eyes not working in this dimension and it cannot locate the portal necessary to return to a 2-dimensional world. So, it gives the doc one of its eyes to try and correct.

After a news report on the TV about ECK! comes on, it goes berserk and leaves the lab, only to cause more havoc to Earthlings.

The doc does his bestest to correct the lens, but doesn't have time to fix the other three.

But, the one lens works and ECK! is able to return to his dimension, making for a happy ending for a change... What about that skyscraper though?.. Here we go with another week, at, The Dungeon!!

THE DEAD ZONE TV Series - Season One Episode 01 (2002)

It's time for another Saturday Night Special in The Dungeon, and tonight's special feature was once again brought to my attention by my good friend in Berlin, D.J., musician, and all around good egg, Lord Litter!

"The Dead Zone" was originally a novel written by famed horror author Stephen King in 1979, and the TV show was based on it! It was only his seventh novel, and the fifth penned under his real name. "Rage" in 1977, and "The Long Walk" in 1979 were written using the name Richard Bachman!

Fairly simple, but effective to start with, the story of "The Dead Zone" centers around this young man named Johnny Smith. Johnny has just banged his head on the hard ice!

Johnny grows up to be a very hands on school teacher, who does things like encourage his students to climb trees and such. Johnny Smith is played by the very affable Anthony Michael Hall!

Johnny's girlfriend is also a teacher at the same school. Her name is Sarah Bracknell and is played by the lovely pixie Canadian Nicole (Lieutenant Ezri Dax) de Boer. They are really a cute couple. Here they are about to embarrassingly get caught kissing in the broom closet!

Johnny Smith's home looks to me like something right out of a Stephen King novel, what's up with that?

I've always like Michael Anthony Hall as an actor ever since his "Sixteen Candles," "The Breakfast Club," "Weird Science" days. He's always been good at playing a sweet and innocent guy, which is exactly what Johnny Smith is.

"Step right up, come on in, see the show, see things you've never imagined before, there's Mysterical Sights to be seen!"

The wheel of luck just might turn unfortunate when the story is written by Stephen King!

This will be about the last time this happy couple's life together will make sense for either of them!

Johnny didn't plan on going out in a blaze of glory, it just worked out that way! He was just going to go get some video tapes to watch!

Six years later, after everybody has completely given up on him, Johnny Smith comes out of a coma!

Sarah never stopped loving Johnny, and she was pregnant when he died, so she ended up getting married to Sheriff Walt Bannerman as played by Chris (Beowulf) Bruno.

When Sarah gets the news that Johnny has come out of his coma, she understandably doesn't know what to think. She loves her husband, but her feeling for Johnny never went away either.

Sarah finally finds the strength to visit Johnny, and tell him that he has a son, but the real story is, since coming out of the coma, Johnny now is a visionary who can see into the past and the future!

I'm really looking forward to watching all three seasons. If you have a Prime account, all three seasons stream for free. Just for the record, "The Dead Zone" was also released as a movie in 1983 with Christopher Walken as Johnny Smith, and Brooke Adams as Sarah Bracknell, then it really started getting weird with deviations on the title like "Zone Of The Dead" in 2009, which was a completely unrelated story! Now it's time for me to step back into my time machine!
