EARLY TO BET - "The Gambling Bug" (1951)

Tonight's short feature in The Dungeon is a 1951 cartoon titled "Early To Bet!"

The main character is a little guy called the Gambling Bug!"
The Gambling Bug has a pretty cool pad. I especially like the betting window!

There are  a couple of examples of how people will bet on anything!

This poor sap hit a jackpot and still got ripped off!

The Gambling Bug is a rotten little louse that bites this cat that is otherwise minding it's own business!

The cat immediately gets the gambling fever and dashes off to play cards with the bulldog!

Of course he loses on the first hand!

And this is how he feels after that loss!

For losing, he has to spin the penalty wheel, which has numbered penalties with matching numbers on filing cards in a filing cabinet!

All the penalties have different names, and this one is call the Gesundheit, and as you can see, involves bubble gum and sneeze powder!

The ensuing results are fairly predictable!

The bug bites the cat a couple of more times, and more penalties like the William Tell happen!

In the end, the cat and the bug draw cards, and let's just say the bug loses badly!
You can bet on the fact that I'll be back with one more post on Saturday, and after that, it's Sayonara 2017! I don't know about you, but it was a pretty wild year for me!

SOME AWESOME MOVIE MONSTER MODELS FOR X-MAS!

I told Eegah!! that I should get the day off since, you know, it's X-Mas and all, and, he laughed at me!.. So, here are some great movie monster models for you to check out.

Lettuce start with a great looking model from IT CONQUERED THE WORLD. I still have my Billiken version of this classic creature from my creator, Mr. Paul Blaisdell...

This robot model from TARGET EARTH looks very cool, in fact, you'd think that the movie itself couldn't help but be a killer klassic!

Not sure why, but, this model for ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTERS is my favorite of the batch! Maybe because it'e so damn kitschy cool...

This Martian from WAR OF THE WORLDS is simply mind boggling! In the movie, you never get to see the thing's bottom half, so, no telling what that looks like!

Love the design of the creatures in I MARRIED A MONSTER FROM OUTER SPACE, this time they have enough sense to put pants on these horny males from another world!

Here's another great model for IT! THE TERROR FROM BEYOND SPACE, love all of those creepy three-fingered monsters. Of course, this is another classic Blaisdell design...

When I saw CURSE OF THE DEMON in 1957, I swear, it was mind boggling. What a thrill it was for a nine year old monster nut, I mean, like... WOW!!!

Here's a wild 'n' weird outdoor scene with three mental vampires from FIEND WITHOUT A FACE. You can see that the one dead creature has been shot!

This profile shot of Paul Blaisdell's space creature from BEAST WITH A MILLION EYES is amazing, it looks ultra modern and the costume design is absolutely alien!!

Here's a nice model of the ID Monster from FORBIDDEN PLANET, you can see what it actually looks like when it's completely visible!

Another great model of THE MONSTER THAT CHALLENGED THE WORLD, man, that is one creepy looking creature, sure wouldn't want to meet up with it in a dark alley!!

Look at this awesome scene from TOBOR THE GREAT, they played this one on TV a lot in the fifties and would watch it whenever it aired!

We'll end the show with PHANTOM PLANET, this is a really interesting creature played by Dungeon god, Richard Kiel... So, Merry Christmas to all of our readers, we do it all for you little monsters out there...

HE-MAN AND SHE-RA: A CHRISTMAS SPECIAL (1985)

That's it for me and X-Mas 2017! I'm sure you were probably expecting something like "Silent Night, Bloody Night," but for this last Saturday Night Special, I decided to go all out instead......

......With something from 1985, and the weirdest thing I could find, the "He-Man and She-Ra Christmas Special!!"

There were 130 episodes of  "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" on TV from 1983 to 1985!

"She-Ra: Princess of Power" ran for 93 episodes from 1985 to 1987!
Watch this amazing transformation unfold!

She-Ra and He-Man were a mighty powerful combination punch!

Skeletor and Horde Prime are on hand to try and spoil the party! This two-headed fellow not only cracks me up, he cracks up themselves too!

Those are some REALLY big evil robots!

So am I a big He-Man fan? No, not really, but these next four background scenes are pretty cool, you've got to admit!

I really like this one!

You don't normally think gorgeous when watching 1980's cartoons, but I don't know any better way to describe this scene!

This is just awesome! I could see this as a 10 ft by 12 ft painting on the wall of a museum somewhere!

"It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas" in La-La Land!

As Snagglepuss would always say, "Exit, stage left!"

I had to include Peekablue!

Here's something you don't see every day! Skeletor smiling!

Another good shot of the party crashers!

Merry Christmas!
Put that in your big elephant head and smoke it!
