THE NUTTY PROFESSOR - Les Brown - "The Greatest Drink Since Dracula Discovered Bloody Marys" (1963)

Welcome to yet another Saturday Night Special in The Dungeon! Tonight's feature is the classic 1963 adaptation of Robert Lewis Stevenson's "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" as portrayed  by one of the most popular guys in France, Jerry Lewis! Pre-ratings, "The Nutty Professor" is like a Disney movie for adults! It's insipidly stupid, but just plain fun to watch!

I watched "The Nutty Professor" a couple of weeks ago and it was the reason I got sidetracked on the whole lengthy film history of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

 The great Jerry Lewis is Professor Julius Kelp, the Dr. Jekyll character in the movie!

 The Professor is trying to get into shape, but the workout is not working out too well!

 In a literal walk through scene, Dungeon Super Hero Richard (Eegah!!) Kiel, strolls through the gym just to set up....

 .........this short but uncomfortable encounter with Julius!!

Without his thick glasses on, Julius bowls over a group of kids he thought were bowling pins and is very excited that he got a strike!

 In the older Dr. Jekyll movies, the transformation would have stopped here, but in the hipper 1963 version, there's time for one more change!

Who shows up after that? The ultra cool Mr. Buddy Love!

 The Hyde character is no killer, but he does have quite an attitude problem! I've often heard that Jerry Lewis wasn't always the nicest guy in the world, and Buddy Love might be a little closer to the real Jerry than the goofball we all grew to love! Comedian/Actor Buddy Lester is the sarcastic bartender feeding it back to him.

 I think you get the point! The poster besieged me not to give out too much information, so I think I've gone too far already!

 This is a great shot!!

 The music by Les Brown and his Band of Renown swings from start to finish, and makes the party complete! Here's about a minute and a half from the ending credits! Pretty sweet!

 When Mr. Cool Buddy Love's voice starts reverting back to the nerdy squeak of Professor Kelp, the crowd of new and adoring fans are shocked back to their senses when he reveals the truth and changes back completely to his former self!

In an otherwise classic tale, the 1960's nerdy guy wins the gorgeous gal in technicolor with cool music! It's about three bikinis, and two surf bands short of being a beach movie, 

but that's all right with me! I liked it almost as much as when I was fifteen!

1970's QUASI-SCARY TV MOVIES!

Here's a list of 13 TV movies made in the 1970's that either I, or Lord Litter, have found on the Internet Archive (And you could too for free) that I'm almost sure I'm never going to get around to watching, but should somehow be included here at least for historical significance! With that said........

"Weekend Of Terror" from 1970 with Robert Conrad, Carol Lynley, and Lee Majors!

"Three nuns on a weekend trip are held hostage by escaped convicts."

Sounds like a good time, how could you go wrong there?!?

 From 1971, "A Howling In The Woods" starring Larry Hagman and Barbara Eden who were both not only in "I Dream Of Jeannie," but also on "Dallas!!"

 The 1972 ghost story "The Stone Tape!"

 Barbara Eden is back in the 1972 movie, "The Woman Hunter" with two other Dungeon notables, Robert Vaughn and Stuart Whitman!
 "There's A Killer In Paradise!"

 Also in 1972 was "Night Of Terror" with Martin Balsam, Chuck Connors, Donna Mills, and Agnes Moorehead!
"He's Out There!"

 1973 delivered "A Cold Night's Death" with Robert Culp and Eli Wallach!

 Also in 1973 came "The Norliss Tapes" with Roy Thinnes and Angie Dickinson!!

"Once the demon is awakened he will be granted immortality!" 

 The cast of the 1974 movie "Scream Of The Werewolf" was a fairly all-star affair that included Peter Graves, Clint Walker, Jo Ann Pflug, and Don Megowan, who ironically enough or not, was the Sheriff in the 1956 classic, "The Werewolf!"

The 1974 movie "The Day The Earth Moved" also had a cast of immense pop culture proportions, that included Jackie Cooper, Clevon Little, Stella Stevens, and Beverly Garland, but I still doubt I'll ever watch it!

 "Curse Of The Black Widow" from 1977 also had a fairly all-star cast that included
Anthony Franciosa, Donna Mills, Patty Duke, June Lockhart and Sid Caesar!

"Night Terror" aka "Night Drive" also came out in 1977 with Valerie Harper! 

Housewife vs. Psycho!

By 1978, it was time for "Devil Dog:Hound Of Hell," with a killer cast that included Richard Crenna, Yvette Mimieux, and Martine Beswick! (Okay, I might have to watch it some day just for those two!)

"A teenage girl is harassed by a stalker" in another 1978 movie called "Are You In The House Alone?"

THE SILENCERS - Dean Martin-Elmer Berstein-Vicki Carr - "It's All About Dino" (1966)

"The Silencers" is not really a 'monster movie', but it looks fantastic, has hot music, is crazy, cool, has psychotronic elements and Dean Martin! What else do you want or need? And besides all that, we needed some color, damnit! Dino as Matt Helm is casual, calm and he's collecting every man's dream!! For anything and everything else you want to know about Dean Martin, please head on over to our new pal's pad, I Love Dino Martin!!! In the meantime, here's the lowdown on tonight's feature! Forgive me if I didn't use your favorite picture, this movie just had too many shots to choose from!!

Cyd Charrise sings the title song from "The Silencers"!! Well, actually Vicki Carr is the one who is singing. Cyd mimes the title song from "The Silencers!" The music was written by Elmer Berstein and the lyrics were written by Mack David!!

There's a series of short pop standards sung by Dino in this opening dream sequence with parody lyrics provided by Herbert Baker. It's like, you know, "Like Dreamsville, Man!" (Not to be confused with the terrific blog up there in the links by the same name!)

Dino and the stunning Daliah Lavi as Tina, and/or Cowboy at the Slaymate club and we get the treat of hearing "Santiago" by Sarita played by Cyd and/or Vicki, again written by Berstein and David!

Stella Stevens looks fantastic through the whole movie. She's gorgeous and hilarious and has a range of facial expressions beyond belief. I captured a ton of photos and she looks great in all of them, no matter what she's doing!! Her and Dean work great together!

The "backward gun trick" is funny, and even though they do it like four or five times in a row, you'll laugh every time!!

If Victor Buono had just a little more makeup on, he would have been a lot scarier! Oh, man, what a drag, Dino got dirty!!!

Matt Helm rocks!!! Now we gotta try and find a copy of "The Ambushers!"

GLASS TRAP / There's No Escape - 2005

In today's tale, scientists have created genetically altered giant ants in a bizarre experiment which backfires terribly and the big old bugs go on a killing rampage. Survivors barricade themselves in a skyscraper in an attempt to avoid them, but, that's no guarantee of safety. This one was directed by cult horror guru, Fred Olen Ray.

It stars C. Thomas (E. T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL) Howell, Stella (THE SILENCERS) Stevens, Siri (MY BROTHER THE PIG) Baruc, Brent (THE BAD PACK) Huff, Chick (THE TERROR WITHIN II) Vennera, Andrew (CRYPT OF THE LIVING DEAD) Prine, Peter (DINOSAUR ISLAND) Spellos and Martin (SAVAGES) Kove.

The story starts when there has been a person horribly killed at a nursery. An FDA agent shows up to figure out what in the Hell has happened to him.

Meanwhile at the Glass Trap high rise, well, the security guard's watching the Roger Corman classic, NIGHT OF THE BLOOD BEAST, directed by our Dungeon Pal, Bernie Kowalski.

The critters are already in the drain pipes inside the building, and, they're getting hungry!

And, the things are even causing electrical problems with the computers.

The giant ants have gotten into the inside of the building and they start attacking the people. Luckily, they kill one of the creatures and save the head for further inspection...

So, if you shine a light on a problem, it will bite you on the ass, or maybe your face!

Anyway, after a marathon of escapes to the top of the building, Stella gets dragged back into the slaughter house..... STELLA!!

The survivors use a zip line to get off the high rise, the sexy girls were having a photo shoot on top of the building and both make it to safety... Thank you Lord!

Corrigan and his men take over the operation, they have a timer on barrels of pesticide.

It goes boom and the big old ants take a nose dive!

Corrigan shows his trophy after he stomps on its head! The movie ends with all the victims that made it out of the place picking up all the pieces... You'd better check in tomorrow for something very special Eegah!! has in store for us!!
