THE DELTA FACTOR - "It's All Greek To Me" (1970)

This weeks Saturday Night Special is a real zinger called "The Delta Factor," or in Spanish,
 "El Factor Delta!"

"The Delta Factor" is a Mickey Spillane Production, and it's also based on a story written by Mickey Spillane.

The star is Christopher (Project X) George as a fast talkin' ladies man and thief named Morgan! I'm not quite sure why, but I've never been a big Christopher George fan, maybe it's because he has two first names! Christopher died at the age of 52 from a heart attack that was caused by an injury he got 16 years earlier when his Jeep flipped over while working in one of his most famous roles, that of Sgt. Sam Troy on the very popular TV series, "The Rat Pack."

"The Delta Factor might not be the best movie in the world, but it's got an awesome cast that includes Rhodes (King Kong Escapes) Reason as Dr. Fredericks. Rhodes Reason is the younger brother to another very popular actor Rex (This Island Earth, The Creature Walks Among Us) Reason. One of Rex Reason's finest accomplishments was marrying the sensational Sanita (Missile To The Moon) Pelkey, so Rhodes got to be her brother-in-law.

Morgan has an eye for the ladies, and one of them is Yvonne (Lily Munster) De Carlo in a very small role as Valerie!

Morgan had just escaped from jail where he was doing time for a 40 million dollar heist of unrecovered  money that he claims he's innocent of. After getting caught, he's given a chance to to get a reduction in time if he helps the government rescue a Doctor being held prisoner on a remote island nation. He's assigned to work with an agent named Stacy, who just happens to also be a beautiful woman!

Dungeon Fave Yvette Carmen Mimieux has the role of agent Kim Stacy!

This is about the most excitement I've ever seen at the craps table as displayed by Diane (Pinky Pinkston) McBain. I will always remember Diane for her role as Daphne Dutton on the TV show "Surfside 6."

If they're going to pull this off, Morgan and Kim really have to act like newlyweds when they are out in public!

And that, Ladies and Gentlemen brings us to what I believe is the whole reason for this film even being made!

This is Rosa as played by Sherri Spillane. Sherri was Mickey Spillane's wife at the time, and I think this movie was made mostly just to showcase her talents, and jump start her career. I can't find any corresponding truth to my theory, but it just makes sense, if you think about it!

Five years before this, Sherri had the role of 'girl' on an episode of the TV series "The F.B.I." but no other earlier credits.

But I guess it didn't work, because even though I thought she was pretty good in this role, she only ever had two more credits in the next nine years, one on an episode of "Police Woman," and one on a show called "Hello, Larry." Sherri and The Mick were married for 19 years, and called it quits in 1983.

This is the scene where they explain the title of the movie. Morgan has been out, and Kim says to him, "You are the X Factor, the essential unknown quantity, and you smell funny, a girl smell. I was wrong, it isn't the X Factor at all, it's the Delta Factor." Morgan replies, "I'm sorry, but that's all Greek to me." Then Kim says, "The Greek letter D, the phallic symbol for woman, the geometric design that identifies the female for the male." What really makes it funny is that I read on IMDB that Christopher George's parents were Greek immigrants, and so he only spoke Greek until he was six years old, because that's the only language they spoke in his home.

Got themselves some pretty fancy spy gadgetry, aka a hotel serving cart!

Time to visit the dark and dank prison where the Doctor is being held!

This long chase scene involves a VW Bug and a Mustang on a windy mountain road, and the VW seems to handle just like a Porsche.

This shot just cracks me up because these two bad hombres look to me like they just got on a roller coaster ride!

By some kind of miracle, they manage to get the Doctor out and on his way to safety!

Joseph (Hang 'Em High) Sirola is Morgan's two timing old pal Sal Dekker, and the one responsible for most of his misery!

Yep! That's right, believe or don't, Kim and Morgan fall in love, because, you know,
it's "The Delta Factor!"

SATURDAY NIGHT ON SATURN - 21 Records That Look Like Sci-Fi Soundtracks But Aren't

A couple of years ago I downloaded this huge file of one million unsorted record covers from the internet archive. I've deleted about half of them, but it's truly amazing how many records have been made in a fairly short amount of time. So, this is a bunch I've found that look like movies but aren't!
This was a digital release by Coming Soon!!! in 2014.
The Wait is Over!

This German album called "Servitors Of The Gods" by The Black Explosion came out in 2012!

This French Album by Christian Clozier came out in 1992.

This 2012 seven inch surf single looks legitimately 1965.

This two CD Australian release of various artists came out in 1999.
It looks like Dr. Who in Las Vegas!

This 2009 three song EP from Russia called "FLAME" looks like an upcoming adventure from somewhere!

Maybe if Jerry Warren had made a Sci-Fi movie called "The Mothership."

This 1958 LP by Les Baxter looks like it could have been the soundtrack for "Missile To The Moon."

Is it Outer Limits and Outer Space or is it Out Of Limits and Out Of Space?

This 2014 digital release is a soundtrack without a movie.
How's that work?

This 2010 disco single from Argentina looks like some unknown Czechoslovakian movie from the 1960's.

This Hawkwind record looks like an episode of "Flash Gordon."

This 2012 Belarus digital release looks like it's from a movie called "Star-Sub."
And Thanx to Randall Landers for the link to this page that's all about 'em!!

This 2010 album by The Sword called "Warp Riders" looks like a 60's Sci-Fi paperback.

Maybe they thought there was a movie to go along with this 1997 LP when they made it.

People in England have been waiting 21 years for this to become an actual movie!

This 2001 German CD came out after there were a whole bunch of Perry Rhodan radio shows released on cassette in the 80's.

This 2008 mini-album CD has a song on it called "Space Elevator."

This 2014 Australian digital release of various artists was one of many with the same theme. Could have fooled me that there wasn't a movie called "Primal Drive."

This last one is one of my favorite album covers. I had this 1976 French record by Patrick Vian until somebody offered me a nice price for it that I couldn't turn down.

HIGH SCHOOL CAESAR - "Mob Rule In A High School" (1960)

This week's Saturday Night Special is a classic juvenile hot rod film from 1960 called "High School Caesar."

Dungeon Hero John Ashley is a spoiled little rich kid named Mat Stevens. He's "Cool as a freezer, that's why they call him Caesar!" IMDB has his name as Matt, but according this poster, I beg to differ.

This is Mat's girlfriend Lita Owens as played by Daria Massey. Search as hard as you want, but all you're going to basically find about Daria is, "She was an actress," and a list of her credits. There's a Facebook click bait page based in Nigeria, that says she died last year, but I wouldn't go there unless you're really on the prowl for a virus!

(After I threw out that challenge, our pal KD found this old newspaper clipping abour Daria. It doesn't really add any new info, but is still interesting as Heck! The movie mentioned in the article titled "The Magic Brain" was actually "The Magic Ring.")

The rockin' soundtrack was written by the phenomenal Nicholas Carras who composed the music for an incredible array of films like "Missile To The Moon," "She Demons," "Date Bait," "Frankenstein's Daughter," "The Astro-Zombies," and more!

The High School election is rigged, and Mat has his pals making sure that he wins!

Mat's best friend is called Cricket, and he wants to go out with this special blonde he likes named Wanda, and Mat guarantees that she will be Cricket's girlfriend, except Wanda has other plans!

The kids are all hanging out drinking Cokes at their favorite joint called The Wagon. That's Wanda on the far left. Wanda was played by Judy (Adventures Of Superman, Magnificent Obsession) Nugent.

Mat's rich parents are out of the country, so he's running all kinds of rackets at the school. He's even mean to the service people employed by his parents.

It's gotta be depressing to be twenty-six, and still be in high school. That's how old John was when he made this film!

The most important thing in life to Mat is to keep his hair slicked back.

The kids all decide to have a hot rod race! Mat tells everybody that there is a $2.00 entry fee to race, and when they balk, he tells them that the winner will get this special coin that he has.

The guy who was running for President against Mat wins the race, and the coin, but after the race is over, Mat with Cricket in the car, run Kelly off the road.

Kelly dies in the accident, and Mat retrieves his coin, and then Mat and Cricket will deny knowing anything about the accident.

One of Mat's rackets is that he sells stolen tests to any kid who has five bucks, and doesn't want to fail. A new test comes up that he needs a copy of, so he sends his goons to the office to get it!

The two dummies almost get caught by the Principal, and it really pisses Mat off!

This shot is iconic 1960! A stud and two dolls!

Wanda is walking down the street, when Mat forces her into the car. Cricket is in the driver's seat, and Mat tells him to take a hike. He tells Cricket he wants Wanda for himself and that Cricket can now have Lita. Cricket's not happy, but leaves anyway. In the meantime, the coin falls out of Mat's pocket.

Wanda has the coin and gets away, and takes off running, and at first Mat pursues her on foot, and then in his car! At one point she hides under this bridge with Mat standing right above her.

Meanwhile Crickets heads back to the club, and when he gets there he tells all the kids that Mat killed Kelly, and in the meantime Wanda goes back to the rest of the kids, and tells them that Mat had Kelly's coin. Steve (Agent For H.A.R.M.) Stevens is Cricket.

Mat gives up on finding Wanda, and heads back to The Wagon where they are supposed to be having a big birthday party for him, but nobody's there.

The kids all turn on him, and the guy who owns The Wagon calls the cops, and the blasphemous reign of the mighty Caesar is put to an end, once and for all! Kind of reminds me of recent political events, just on a smaller scale!
