SIX UNSUNG HEROS OF THE DUNGEON!

We don't have a "Dungeon Hall Of Fame," but once in a while we will call somebody a Dungeon Hero because we really like them for whatever reason. There is no list, and we've actually never even discussed it between the two of us because we don't need to. I did a search of our site for "Dungeon Hero" and I came up with 47 different names, so I'm going to start with a list in no particular order, of six guys I call some of the..........
"Unsung Heroes of The Dungeon."

First up is John Hoyt, and I never knew until I started writing this, that an alternate title for "Attack Of The Puppet People" was "Six Inches Tall." In the tube is another Dungeon Hero, John Agar!

I also never knew John was such a stud!

"Attack Of The Puppet People" was just about as good as it got for 1958!
John as The Puppeteer was kind of like Joe Biden, seems nice, but creepy!

Next up is one of our favourite bad guys, Milton Reid! Before his acting career, Milton was a professional wrassler known as "Mighty Chang!" It really is cool how many wrasslers and boxers have gone on to be actors! That's gotta be the toughest way to break into the business, but it still works to this day!

No credits on the poster, but at least they used his image!

Wow! Milton gets a cutting torch to the face in this poster for "Mission Desperate."

Gil Perkins is our next Unsung Hero!

What could be better than a 51 year old dude playing a "Teenage Monster?"

Gil Perkins has played a "Teenage Monster" and a guy named "Cauliflower," you got something better than that?

This is from just one of the many amazing "Batman" TV shows!

This 30 minute episode titled "Ring Around The Riddler" included Yvonne Craig as Batgirl....

...........And  also featured the amazing Joan Collins as "The Siren," but I digress.

Anthony Eisley is one of the most unappreciated actors of all time, and his work in "The Mighty Gorga," or "The Mummy And The Curse Of The Jackals" should attest to that! That's Anthony with the mustache as Tracy Steele on "Hawaiian Eye!"

And if that's not enough proof, there's always the immaculate reception also known as "Dracula Vs. Frankenstein!"

Jeff Morrow should be a common household name like John Wayne or Clint Eastwood for his contributions to cinema, but unfortunately he's not!

I couldn't pick between these two international posters for "The Creature Walks Among Us," they're both so insane! Look at how big the creature is in this bottom poster, and how about those hawk feet?

"This Island Earth" came out in 1955. It was so far ahead of it's time and Jeff Morrow was a big part of it! What a krazy action packed poster!

The last guy on this list is Jake LaMotta who only has one movie we've ever written about here called "Confessions Of A Psycho Cat," but that's not the reason he's on this list! Jake actually has 18 acting credits, and has a movie that was made about his own life, the classic "Raging Bull." Jake's boxing record was 83 wins, 19 losses. and 4 draws, and they were all battles!

The reason Jake LaMotta is on this list is because he's Jake LaMotta, and that's just good enough!

THE CREATURE WALKS AMONG US / Universal International Pictures - 1956

It's about time we review this final entry to the Creature trilogy after recently scoring the Legacy collection. This time, the Creature's captured by a crew of adventurers and turned into an air-breathing monster by a rich scientist in the lab.

Here's a fun little sound clip from this classic fifties flick, sooooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button located there by our Aroura Creature model, NOW, Ralphie The Tarantula!.. Here's... THE CREATURE WALKS AMONG US!

Here are Rex Reason, Jeff Morrow and Gregg Palmer in the control room learning about the new sonar technology that will help them locate the Creature under water. Rex and Jeff are paired up again after they appeared together in THIS ISLAND EARTH. Gregg was in THE ZOMBIES OF MORA TAU and FROM HELL IT CAME. Rex was married to Dungeon Goddess Sanita Pelkey, but unfortunately they divorced after just a year.

Jeff plays rich scientist Dr. Barton, he's learning about what they will be dealing with in case they come across the huge monster. Actually, the Creature doesn't ever appear to be that much larger than a human in person.

The crew arrives in the Florida Everglades (where the Creature ended up at the end of REVENGE OF THE CREATURE) to start their search for the thing.

Do you check me?..

Hit the musical cue, Ralphie!

A fisherman will tell you that night fishing is fly, but, Gill-Man is another kettle of fish!

From bad to worse!..

Is this a great shot or whut?!

The guys discover that under the scales is a man. Not particularly attractive, but, a man!

And, the doc ends up treating him like a dog!

Jealously plays a big part in the story, for revenge, the doc tries to make it look like Creach killed his wife's lover but the plan backfires and the big guy escapes from his cage.

Oops, sorry!! I was looking for the doc.

There you are, you dirty SOB! It's time to meet your maker and pay for your twisted ways!

The Creature is drawn to the ocean and we don't know what his fate will be, so, goodbye big guy, we'll miss you!.. Be back on Wednesday for another Dose of Dungeon Doom!

LEGACY OF BLOOD / Studio West Film Distributors - 1971

I'll end the week with this little horror flick with a pile of stars, The story goes like this.. In order to qualify to inherit the family fortune, four heirs must spend the night in the family estate. But, you know, someone starts killing them off one by one.

I've got a little sound clip for your approval, sooooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button over by our Turkish Gremlin, NOW, Rufus The Gnat!.. Here's a taste of... LEGACY OF BLOOD!

Here's Jeff Morrow as alcoholic Gregory Dean and his wife Leslie played by Brooke Mills as they await the others to show up for the reading of the will. Of course, Jeff is a Dungeon Hero for his work in films like THIS ISLAND EARTH, THE CREATURE WALKS AMONG US, KRONOS and THE GIANT CLAW.

Then, there's John Russell as Frank Mantee, a handsome, well dressed guy with a neckerchief. John is best known as Marshal Dan Troop in LAWMAN and was also in FIREBALL JUNGLE.

John Smith plays Dr. Carl Isenburg. We remember him from ISLAND OF LOST WOMEN, his last work was for PROJECT U.F.O. in 1978.

Here's Faith Domergue as Veronica Dean, boy, did I ever have a huge crush on her! Faith was in these many movies... VENDETTA, CULT OF THE COBRA, THIS ISLAND EARTH, IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA, THE ATOMIC MAN, VOYAGE TO THE PREHISTORIC PLANET and THE HOUSE OF SEVEN CORPSES.

Well, time to go to the cemetery and bury Christopher Dean whose estate is in the will. He's played by John Carradine, someone we don't even need to list his films as there are way to many, a real Dungeon God!

Hey! Nice tie!!..

Rodolfo Acosta is the sheriff, he gets an ax in the head for his effort.

After the murder, everyone's a little weirded out about the news.

Then, Gregory and Leslie's sleep is interrupted by their death. Wonder what they're dreaming about now?

Guess who drops in on the fun?! The old codger isn't dead at all, he's just playing games.

That's right, Frank is a card carrying Nazi enthusiast surrounded with his memorabilia.

Bet the doc wishes he would have brought his stethoscope along with him!

At one point everyone believes that the doctor may be the killer so they tie him to a chair and lock him in a closet. When they hear him screaming, they go to the closet to find that he has spilled his oatmeal with raisins all over his head. He was having trouble eating it because his hands were tied.

Christopher shows his face at the end but gets it good by the real killers...

Ha-ha, the servants have had it with this nutty family and get the inheritance in the end... Eegah!! is back tomorrow to share more cool junk!
