DEEP IN THE FOREST - "Coming May 31, 2022"

I just got an email that on May 31, 2022, a new movie by my favorite modern filmmaker, Jeremy Dylan Lanni, is going to be released in digital and on demand formats by Saban Films.

The movie is titled "Deep In The Forest," and if it's like any of Jeremy's other works, then it's something to be very excited about!

If you happen not to know who Jeremy is, he's the guy that brought us the amazing "Conjuring Orson" in 2014.

Jeremy is also responsible for the brilliant film "Anywhere, U.S.A." made in 2017.

"Deep In The Forest" is a tense, taut political thriller about a future nobody wants to believe will ever happen, but seems more plausible by the day.
It was written and directed by Jeremy Dylan Lanni, and features the talents of Ursula Brooks, Derwin Jordan, Stuart Pankin, Peter Jason, P.J. Ochlan, Wendy Worthington, Eva Abramian, Will Bradley, Jedidia Dyer, Larry Cedar, Keith Stevenson, Spencer Martin, Cela Scott, Ross Frasier, Duane Johnson, and Roger M. Maye.
If you want to get a good taste of what it's all about, then
It's not like we weren't warned! Back in the 70's The Firesign Theatre tried to tell us, but few listened,

TRICK OR TREATS - "When Halloween Night Stopped Being Fun!" (1982)

So this is it, the night we've all been waiting for, and I think "Trick Or Treats" from 1982 is not that bad of a film to commemorate the event, and finish off our 2018 Halloween Countdown!

The basic plot here is pretty simple! It's a story about a babysitter being terrorized in jest on Halloween by a kid who is an amateur magician while his parents are in Las Vegas for the night! The side story is that the kid's Father is a maniac who has escaped from the asylum and come home to kill his wife!

I liked "Trick Or Treats" because it's a cauldron of Pop Cult Culture and performers! To start off, these two attendants from the local insane asylum are retired NFL quarterback Dan Pastorini who played with the Houston Oilers, the Oakland Raiders, the Los Angeles Rams, and the Philadelphia Eagles! A damn fine quarterback, Dan had a 50.9% pass completion record! Dan was also married five times, his last wife being buxom blonde bombshell June Wilkinson! The other attendant is retired NFL linebacker Tim Rossovich who also played for Houston, Philadelphia, and San Diego!

The parents of the bratty kid are Carrie (Diary Of A Mad Housewife) Snodgress and David (Death Race 2000) Carradine!!

These two bums are Jason (Escape From Alcatraz) Ronard, and Paul (Eating Raoul) Bartel!

Need more? Steve (The Stunt Man) Railsback is the babysitter's boyfriend! Steve, Carrie, and David all have fairly small parts, but theirs are the names prominently displayed on the poster!

The real stars of "Trick Or Treats" are Jacqueline (Drive-In Massacre) Giroux who was actually married to Steve Railsback for 8 years in real life!

Chris Graver was the son of the director and writer of "Trick Or Treats," Gary Graver. After five credits, Chris decided to spend the rest of his career on the other side of the camera!

With over 250 credits under his belt, Peter (Conjuring Orson) Jason is one of the hardest working guys in modern show business! (Possibly part of the reason he did such a good job as Orson Welles is that Orson was the 'magical advisor' on "Trick Or Treats!"

The scenes of all the trick or treaters are great!!

Give us candy or I'll shoot you!!

These drunken adult trick or treaters were my favorite!

Little Tor is pretty bizarre peering through the window!

She pleads with him to stop, but that's not going to happen!

Meanwhile, the unsuspecting parents are having a good time in Las Vegas!

"Trick Or Treats" is pretty funny, and plays like if Disney had made a horror movie.....

..... that is until the big butcher knife comes out!

Great album cover, and of course, it's Volume 13!

She's tired, and she finally has to tell the kid the fable about "The Little Boy Who Cried Wof," but it doesn't have any real effect on the little shit!

There are basically only two really violent scenes, no bad language, or real nudity, just deperation and despair!

I would have let me kids watch "Trick Or Treats" long before I would let them watch anything like "Bride Of Chucky," or any number of slasher movies, so .....
Поздравляем Вас с праздником Хэллоуин, Feliz Dia das Bruxas, Cadılar Bayramınız Kutlu Olsun, and Happy Halloween, wherever you are! Be safe!

ANYWHERE U.S.A. - Jeremy Dylan Lanni (2017)

A thought provoking movie that is only 6 minutes and 48 seconds long has no commercial potential, so why the Hell would anybody bother spending all their time and money making one?
Welcome to The Dungeon!!

Depending on how old you are, you might remember a time when people wrote songs that had forethought and meaning like Dylan's "The Times Are A Changing," or Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth," or anything by Phil Ochs or Pete Seeger! That's kind of how I feel about "Anywhere U.S.A."

It's just a diner that could be anywhere in the U.S.A., or as our good friend Lord Litter said after viewing the movie, in Germany, or really almost anywhere in the world!
There's an absolutely amazing cast that includes this fun-loving adorable young couple that work in the diner, and there's a handful of customers! That's it, but how will they interact in 6 minutes and 48 seconds?

Keith (Wake Up America!) Stevenson is one of the more hostile customers and his companion is....

...Kendrah (Like A Butterfly) McKay, who has a personality that stings like a bee!

The great Peter (Conjuring Orson) Jason is the typical grumpy old fart! I say typical, because I've met lots of guys like this is my life, in fact, I've been accused of being one myself!

Jo D. (John of God the Movie) Jonz is a soldier just trying to enjoy his meal!

This is Kevin (The Amazing Spider-Man) McCorkle as the uptight used car salesman......

.....And Calum (American Horror Story) Dench as his ice cream eating grandson!

Juliette (Gotham) Beavan and Cela (Best Fake Friends) Scott are the blondies in the booth!

Actor and voice over artiste supreme, Stuart (Congo) Pankin works in the kitchen!

Jared (Vineland) Wernick is one half of the innocent couple, and....

........Alex (Christmas in the Heartland) Preble is the other half! They both manage to cause problems without even trying!
So that's the cast, you just need to go watch it, because I'm not going to tell you what happens! A lot goes on in a short period of time, and I will say that I was shocked by the ending!
Jeremy Dylan Lanni is a gifted film maker with something to say, and he has given you a nice X-mas gift absolutely free! All you have to do is go watch it, and you can do that right HERE!!

This surrealistic 1969 Buck Owens' album and Jeremy's movie with the same title might not seem like they have much in common, but they are both short and to the point! The longest song on this LP is "Keep On Your Keepin' On" at 2:40, and "Georgia Peach" is only 1:17 minutes long, just the way I like it! I was thinking about it the other day, a TV series that runs for a couple of seasons is like a 20 hour movie, I'll take 6:48 minutes of quality over 20 hours of crap any time! Thanx Jeremy!

CONJURING ORSON - Jeremy Dylan Lanni (2014)

Jeremy Dylan Lanni has been my friend on Facebook for a few years now. We've never met or spoke to each other, but he sends me emails with links to his short films, and I haven't been disappointed yet! Tonight's Wild Wednesday 8 minute short feature  written, directed, and produced by Jeremy is called "Conjuring Orson!" It's well done, funny, smart, and informative, so what the Hell else could you want out of 8 minutes?

And so it goes, "Conjuring Orson" is a movie about making a movie about a movie!

The main scene is set at a seance!
Eileen Barnett is awesome as Madam Tana! Eileen has been all over TV for three decades now!

Sarah (As The World Turns, All My Children) Glendening is Kristen Powers, and Clifford (Redlands) Morts are two film makers who want to remake the last but unfinished film of Orson Welles called "The Other Side Of The Wind," and they're seeking spiritual help to try and find out what kind of ending Orson had in mind!

The skeptical third member of the party is Stuart (Not Necessarily The News) Pankin as an actor Eli Klein!

The ghost of Orson Welles is one of the hardest working guys in show business, Peter (They Live) Jason, who ironically enough was actually in "The Other Side Of The Wind" before it got scrapped!

They ask some questions and Orson has some not so kind things to say about the film making business, and then..........

..........He's gone just as fast as he appeared, and he never got around to answering their question about the ending, so they're just going to have to come back and pay for another session!

They didn't get the ending out of Orson, and I'm not going to tell you either!!

But you can go watch it yourself, and that would be my recommendation!
So what do you think? Orson's real last film that got completed was a documentary titled "F For Fake," so you can pretty much assume that this is
not quite The End either!
