THE DAY IT CAME TO EARTH / Rainbow Productions - 1979

Welcome to Meteor Monster Monday with Tabonga, here at The Dungeon!.. Here's a little story about a meteor that falls into a pond where Mafia hitmen have dumped the body of one of their victims, then, students from the local college go swimming there and find the object from space, which has weird, unearthly powers. That poster is pathetic!

Eegah!! sent over a soundclip with the rockin' theme from this flick, sooooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button there next to our big old glowing meteor, NOW, Ralphie The Tarantula! Here's our audio offering for... THE DAY IT CAME TO EARTH!

After the mafia dudes throw the dead guy into a secluded pond, a meteor falls out of the sky and into the pool a few weeks later. It activates the corpse, which then lumbers out of the pond and into town, where it locates the two murderers and returns the favor in spades! (they were playing cards) The police are totally baffled at the crime scene.

Here's a guy Eegah!! and I grew up with on TV, George Gobel, who plays science teacher, Prof. Bartholomew. George had his own show in 1956 and could be seen on a number of other programs including WAGON TRAIN, CANDID CAMERA, THE BING CROSBY SHOW, F TROOP, THE BOB HOPE SHOW, ROWAN AND MARTIN'S LAUGH IN, THE RED SKELTON HOUR and more.

Eddie and Ronnie are trying to impress Sally (the blonde) and Debbie at school! It works and the girls agree to go with them to the local pond to go skinny... err, swimming. Debbie's played by the beautiful Rita Wilson.

The animated corpse is awakened by Sally as she swims near the thing and it grabs at her! It only leaves the pool at night.

Eddie finds some strange crystals near where the meteor landed, so, the boys go to Prof. Bartholomew to show him what they found. The professor is very interested, they go back to the pool, locate the meteor and take it back to the school.

Cool shot as Prof. Bartholomew checks out the crystal structure under a microscope! Later that night, the corpse breaks into the lab and takes the meteor back to the pond for safe keeping.

Eddie made Sally a necklace out of one small crystal, they have an encounter with the thing because it's attracted to the rock.

Of all things, a few girls from school, including Sally and Debbie, decide to have a slumber party at a creepy old house in the country!! The boys sneak into the place to scare them, but, the tables are turned when the meteor monster shows up! Everyone scrambles out of the house, including the cops, at the sight of the gruesome thing.

If you ever wondered what a tear gas cartridge from 1979 looks like, well, here ya go!

Another meteor comes to Earth, but, it's too late for the thing as it holds onto Sally's necklace while a fire in the theater burns it to a crisp!

UPPERSEVEN, L'UOMO DA UCCIDERE - Bruno Nicolai - "The Man Of A Thousand Masks" (1966)

Welcome to another Super Spy Saturday Night and tonight's edition, "Upperseven, The Man To Kill!" I love that hand in your face shot!

"Upperseven" is not only about a man with many faces, it's also about a movie with many titles! The original Italian title is "Upperseven, L'uomo Da Uccidere," but it was released in English as not only "Upperseven, The Man To Kill," but also as "The Spy With Ten Faces," and/or "The Man Of A Thousand Masks!" It's kinda got that "Zelda" thing going on for it!

You see, it's like this, Upperseven is not only a secret agent, he also is a master of disguise, and he wields a seemingly harmless but lethal cane, and he's not afraid to use it!

The seriously bad guy is Nando Gazzolo as Kobras! Nando did a lot of Italian TV up until about 10 years ago. I'm not quite sure why he never became a bigger star, he's really good at being bad!! Kobras' main squeeze is played by Vivi (Bullets Don't Argue) Bach!

This a beautiful profile of a classic Ford Thunderbird!

This is a beautiful profile of the goddess Rosalba (Lady Frankenstein) Neri! That alone should be enough to make you want to see this movie!

And if that wasn't enough, Rosalba sings Upperseven a song after they have sex! Paul Finney, the Upperseven was  played by Paul Hubschmid! Paul was the professor in "The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms" in 1953, and he was almost 50 years old when he got this gig! Go Paul!

Too bad she was setting him up to be killed! He turns the tables and sacrifices her instead! Upperseven has no shame!

Kobras and Birgit examine some of the different faces that Upperseven has used!

I love this still! I can't exactly explain it, but I think it's the composition that is so fascinating!

This shot looks like an Edward Hopper oil painting!

Upperseven dons one of his many masks!

This is something I had never seen before! To abduct the gal, this thug reaches down and pulls her dress up over her head!

Is this a great shot of our hero or what?  Besides being a great movie to look at, "Upperseven" has a great soundtrack by the remarkable Maestro Bruno Nicolai and a very cool theme sung by Nancy Cuomo!

Proof of how good this film is, we got this far without even mentioning co-star Dungeon Homecoming Queen, Karin Dor! That was Karin also getting her dress pulled up over her head! We love Karin because she was looking good in a slew of Edgar Wallace flicks, "The Face Of Fu-Manchu," and James Bond's "You Only Live Twice!"

In the ultimate 'Take That Kobras!' scene, Upperseven escapes from being held captive wearing a mask that looks like Kobras! He then proceeds to screw Kobras' girlfriend, by turning out the lights and then removing the mask!

Karin Dor was capable of even looking hot with Devo glasses on!

One thing I like about "Upperseven," no bullshit political correctness! You cross the line and get caught, and you pay the price! Sorry for the spoiler, but Kobras gets his ass handed to him!!

Does this poster have much to do with the movie? Not really! Do you care? I doubt it!

EL CHARRO DE LAS CALAVERAS / Derechos Reservados Televisa - 1965

It's time for another trip to Mexico with Tabonga, here at The Dungeon!.. We gots a wild 'n' weird flick for sure, with a closet full of classic monsters, Mexican style! American title is RIDER OF THE SKULLS.

Eegah!! sent over a lil' soundclip of the cool theme tune for your earjoyment, sooooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button there by the talking head, NOW, Rufus The Gnat! Here's an earfull of... EL CHARRO DE LAS CALAVERAS!

Dagoberto Rodríguez is the Rider of the Skulls, a cool looking dude there to fight, what else... MONSTERS!!

Let's see, first, there's the old hag witch causing trouble in the country setting.

She brings this messed up corpse to life to confound the Rider with a twisted tale of horror!

There's the dime store werewolf who terrorizes everyone including his own family!

The werewolf was just chewing on a dude's neck, and, it's a little past noon... SIESTA TIME!!

This vampire dude can turn into a white bat, fly and can mess with people during the day, so, gets a well deserved wooden spear in the back!!

Then, there's this monster head in a box that commands this woman to do his evil bidding... Mexican monsters are whack, but, in all the right ways!

The head is buried by a friend but later ends up back in the woman's bed with her!!

The headless horseman shows up, looking for his head.

Great shot of our hero as he fires at the horseback fiend!

And, let's not forget about the skeleton dudes! This movie was edited down from a TV serial. Tune in Saturday to see what little surprise Eegah!! has in store for us...
