DAIKYOJU GAPPA (Monster From A Prehistoric Planet) - Seitaro Omori - "Monster Reunion" (1967)

"Daikyojû Gappa" has one of the sappiest scenes ever put on film, this reunion between the Monsters is just so touching, with it's horrible humming and screeching, roaring gawdawful strings. We hope you enjoy it as much as Tabonga does!!

CARNIVAL OF SOULS - Gene Moore - "At The Bar" (1962)

Of all characters, this couple really creeps me out! She's not a pig, according to his friend, but is a mouse as far as he is concerned. He's a weasel jerk, but she only wants to be with him! They're both nuts, so I guess they just deserve each other, and we deserve to hear the cool sleaze on the jukebox by Gene Moore & just wait til they go up to the room. Candace Hilligoss is terrifically icky as Mary Henry. Sidney Berger who plays loser John Linden, was only in 2 movies, this one & another movie by Wes Craven made in 1988, called, you guessed it, "Carnival Of Souls," & went on to be the head of the Drama Department at the University Of Houston! FORBIDDEN PLANET - Bebe & Louis Barron - "Main TItle" (1956)

"Forbidden Planet" is probably THE best movie ever made, period. It's all been said, & it's all true! It is amazing! This film has made an impression on our collective minds to last a Krell's lifetime or longer! You get Anne Francis, Leslie Nielsen, Jack Kelly, Earl Holiman & Robby The Robot, an incredible score of the future, that actually makes sense from the ever so talented Barrons, Disney special effects & a look unlike anything ever seen before or since! Not to forget, the scariest monster ever to walk the face of any planet, your mind!! Mandatory viewing for any lover of the genre. In a perfect world of the future we'll all have a copy!! Id's all up to you now!

IL PIANETA DEGLI UOMINI SPENTI (Battle Of The Worlds) - Mario Migliardi - "Outsider Music" (1961)

Mario M. also did the music for the 1968 German laughfest, "Der Turm Der Verbotenen Liebe," which had the English title "The Tower Of Screaming Virgins."

Why did they have to have a guy named Cornfield? That's what we need to know. Everything else is fairly self-explanatory, but Dr. Cornfield? Don't get it! Anyway, despite that, this is a pretty exciting scene with equally interesting 'future' type music, especially for 1961. So they figured out how to get to the "Outsider" by using oscillators as music, what genius!!! Turn it up Loud for maximum effect!!!

THE BEACH GIRLS AND THE MONSTER - Chuck Sagle - "Stalking Monster" (1965)

This is just a short little one minute piece where the guy in the monster suit, I mean, The Monster was creeping around whilst the children frolicked in the sand. Basically a variation on a lot of the other music in the film. Surf's Up one more time!

GHOST OF DRAGSTRIP HOLLOW - Bruce Johnston and Judy Harriett - "I Promise You" (1959)

 

A very slow scene with a fairly crappy slow song from "Ghost Of Dragstrip Hollow" is saved by the fact that Sanita Pelkey was in it.

 

Vertically challenged Henry McCann as Dave was used with the statuesque Sanita for cheap laughs. He also played the character of "Shorty" in more than one film. His career was also short, spanning only 3 or 4 years! I Promise You.

X - Les BaXter - "Opening Credits" (1963)

Okay, everyone knows that right after 13 is X, of course, so check this out! This film is called "X" to start with! Ray Milland is incredible as Dr. Xavier, his girlfriend is Diane FairfaX, and the music is by the brilliant Les BaXter. If that's not enough, James H. Nicholson & Samuel Z. Arkoff were eXecutive producers. Are you starting to see a pattern here? This is such a great movie, with unbelievable small parts by some of our favourites, like Dick Miller, Jonathan Haze, & Barboura Morris, who are all uncredited for some insane reason. C'mon, Dick Miller & Jonathan Haze together in one scene as hecklers, that would be automatic award stuff in a normal world!! You are so lucky this movie is available to rent or buy. Enjoy your fortune as soon as possible! X
