1970's QUASI-SCARY TV MOVIES!

Here's a list of 13 TV movies made in the 1970's that either I, or Lord Litter, have found on the Internet Archive (And you could too for free) that I'm almost sure I'm never going to get around to watching, but should somehow be included here at least for historical significance! With that said........

....Here we go! In chronological order starting with...

"Weekend Of Terror" from 1970 with Robert Conrad, Carol Lynley, and Lee Majors!
"Three nuns on a weekend trip are held hostage by escaped convicts."
Sounds like a good time, how could you go wrong there?!?

From 1971, "A Howling In The Woods" starring Larry Hagman and Barbara Eden who were both not only in "I Dream Of Jeannie," but also on "Dallas!!"

The 1972 ghost story "The Stone Tape!"

Barbara Eden is back in the 1972 movie, "The Woman Hunter" with two other Dungeon notables, Robert Vaughn and Stuart Whitman!
 "There's A Killer In Paradise!"

Also in 1972 was "Night Of Terror" with Martin Balsam, Chuck Connors, Donna Mills, and Agnes Moorehead!
"He's Out There!"

1973 delivered "A Cold Night's Death" with Robert Culp and Eli Wallach!

Also in 1973 came "The Norliss Tapes" with Roy Thinnes and Angie Dickinson!!
"Once the demon is awakened he will be granted immortality!"

The cast of the 1974 movie "Scream Of The Werewolf" was a fairly all-star affair that included Peter Graves, Clint Walker, Jo Ann Pflug, and Don Megowan, who ironically enough or not, was the Sheriff in the 1956 classic, "The Werewolf!"

The 1974 movie "The Day The Earth Moved" also had a cast of immense pop culture proportions, that included Jackie Cooper, Clevon Little, Stella Stevens, and Beverly Garland, but I still doubt I'll ever watch it!

"Curse Of The Black Widow" from 1977 also had a fairly all-star cast that included
Anthony Franciosa, Donna Mills, Patty Duke, June Lockhart and Sid Caesar!
Big Girl!!

"Night Terror" aka "Night Drive" also came out in 1977 with Valerie Harper!
Housewife vs. Psycho!

By 1978, it was time for "Devil Dog:Hound Of Hell," with a killer cast that included Richard Crenna, Yvette Mimieux, and Martine Beswick! (Okay, I might have to watch it some day just for those two!)
"A Halloween Howler!"

"A teenage girl is harassed by a stalker" in another 1978 movie called "Are You In The House Alone?"
So, there you go! IF I've slighted your favourite movie, then by all means leave a comment, and I'll make sure and give it the treatment it deserves, but until then, Aloha, Auf Wiedersehen, & Buenos Noches!

LET'S TALK ABOUT SOME WITCHES OF THE PAST 50 YEARS!

I've been doing a lot of  Grimm-bingeing for the past few weeks, and it's really getting in the way of my regular movie watching! I'm now into about a third of the final season and I have to tell you that the Hexenbeast Adalind Schade has really cast a spell on me, very similar to the jinx Samantha Stevens put on me some 50 years ago!
So this was all causing me to think about doing a post of all the 'Witch' movies and TV shows ever made, but when an IMDB search for 'Witch' kicked out 1540 titles, I decided I better try something else, So....

........Let's talk about witches!

Claire Coffee is Adilind Schade! I think she's the cutest witch of all time, and she's just really awesome in this role! It's funny, she didn't really look that pretty at the start, I guess that just shows how good of an actress she really is, because this gal is amazing!!

In the beginning, they make you hate her, then when they stick her in this dungeon, you feel sorry for her, and by the time it's all over, you're in love with her, at least I am!

Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha Stevens has been my favourite witch for years, but Adilind casts a very strong spell!!

You've gotta admit that they both still look great even under the most extreme circumstances!

Other hot witches of note are Michelle Pfeiffer as Sukie Ridgemont in the 1987 "Witches Of Eastwick!"

Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah Sanders in the 1993 film "Hocus Pocus!"

Melissa Joan Hart as "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch."

Angelina Jolie as Maleficent in a 2014 movie I've yet to see!

And let's not forget the 2016 feature with Samantha Robinson as Elaine in "The Love Witch!"
 Hubba, Hubba!

Other notable witches we've discussed in these pages before are:

Luscious Libby Hall in The Larry Buchanan film, "The Naked Witch!"

The always alluring Allison Hayes as Livia and The Witch in "The Undead!

The adorable Maria Perschy as Mariana in the 1967 Sid Pink romp "A Witch Without A Broom!"

Creepy but pretty Yvette Rees as Vanessa Whitlock in "Witchcraft!"

And......Margaret Johnston as Flora Carr in "Burn Witch Burn!"
Some people feel blessed, but I just feel bewitched!!

The FIFTIES SPECIAL EFFECTS WORK Of RAY HARRYHAUSEN

Today we take a look at the movies Ray Harryhausen worked his magic on in the fifties, and boy, what a great time it was!!.. So, sit back and enjoy the awesome monsters he helped create for us! Ray went on to make many more movies, but, I think the ones from the fifties had the most impact...

After working as an uncredited technician on MIGHTY JOE YOUNG in 1949, Ray assumes the role as lead effects technician on THE BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS in 1953, all about a dinosaur bought back to life by atomic bomb tests in the Arctic. Unbelievably, I saw this movie in 1953 at age five! What I remembered the most were the scenes with the roller coaster at the amusement park during the climax.

Up next is IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA from 1955, a tale about a giant pentapuss that appears in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Francisco. At the time, I had a huge crush on Faith Domergue, which made it all the more watchable for me!

In 1956, Ray brings us EARTH vs. THE FLYING SAUCERS and blows the competition out of the water!! This is what we were waiting for, an invasion by monsters from outer space!! You get classic flying saucers, awesome robots, death rays, spying orbs and a trip into space!

Then, we get a giant Ymir monster from Venus in 20 MILLION MILES TO EARTH from 1957. I was lucky again to get to see this thrilling movie at the theater at the time, it definitely left a big impression on me! Ray had the best creatures around!

In 1958, Ray goes to England to work on special effects for THE STRANGE WORLD OF PLANET X aka COSMIC MONSTERS starring Forrest Tucker! This flick is so damned whacked out that I love it to pieces!!.. The creepy giant insect scenes are something to behold!

Also in 1958, Ray kicks royal ass with THE 7th VOYAGE OF SINBAD! Holy crap, this movie had it all, an evil sorcerer, a cyclops, a giant bird, a skeleton warrior and other great critters, making for a ton of fun for kids like me! Yeah, I got to see this great movie at the theater at the time too! In other words, I saw three of Ray's fifties movies, what a freakin' lucky kid I was!!

We're back on Wednesday with even more Wild 'n' Weird Dungeon Cargo, just for you!
