BATMAN - Season 03, Episode 10 - "Surf's Up! Joker's Under!" (1967)

As corny as it was, the "Batman" TV series was always extra entertaining for various reasons!
Welcome to The Dungeon and tonight's Saturday Night Special,
Season 03, episode 10 of the TV series known only as "Batman!"

The power of the Dynamic Duo has persevered for over 75 years now, and is as popular or more popular than it ever was, crossing over from comics to TV, to the movies, and beyond!
Holy stats!! It's really quite amazing!

Pretty Cool! Both Adam West and Burt Ward are still alive! If I did the math right, Adam should be 88 next month, and Burt should have just turned 71 last month!

The producers of "Batman" were smart! They took the popularity of "Batman" and combined it with the biggest surfin' craze in history, and got an end-product that was unbeatable!!

Cesar Romero will always be The Joker to me!!

I love the ocean, and I always wanted to be a surfer, but there was just one problem, I can't surf!!

I really dig this crazy jukebox!!

Classic shot of our heroes!!

Swedish bombshell Sivi Aberg has the role of The Joker's assistant, Undine! She also played Mimi in two other "Batman" episodes!
Sivi also had the job as assistant on Dungeon fave, "The Gong Show!

The Joker strives to get surfin' skills via brainwave transplants from a top surfer! He thinks if he starts with surfers, he will then be able to move on to total domination of the world! It's so stupid, you gotta love it!

I love this shot of Batman and Robin peeping in through this window!

"I think you've got something there, porkypine!"
Ouch!!

The joker's assistants attempt to turn Batman and Robin into surfboards!
Believe it or not, they escape!

With his new found surfin' skills The Joker challenges Batman to a surfin' contest!
Somebody actually decided to put Batman in baggies!

Here's a great shot of Batman and his surfboard!!

In the end, Yvonne Craig shows up as Batgirl to help wrap things up!!

Of course there's a big showdown between Batman and The Joker in the end. I love this shot of the onlookers reactions!

BAM!!!
I'm outta here, have a great weekend!!

THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR / Warner Bros. - 1975

Here's one from 1975 starring the King himself, Yul Brynner. The storyline goes like this... Only a few people still live in New York in 2012 and are organized in gangs. One of them is led by Baron (Max von Sydow), another one by Carrot (William Smith), they are constantly at war with each other.

The future is a grim and stark place in the year 2012. That reminds me, things got this bad by 2012, but, Larry Buchanan's IN THE YEAR 2889, which takes place like 900 years from now, freakin' everything you see is from the sixties!!.. Carrumba!

Yul plays Carson, friend to the oppressed, he's his own man and belongs to no gang.

Baron convinces Carson to join his people, the kinder, more gentler gang.

Nice shot of the absolute clutter in this corner of the city.

This guy gets thrown off a building into a fiery pit by Carrot's men, what a way to go!

Here's a cool shot of the reflection in this gal's window as she freaks out about something.

Carrot's dudes are trying to kill off Baron's men and want Carson, who has disappeared into the depths of the city.

They track down Carson in the subway tunnel and the fight begins. After Carson kills all of Carrot's men, he has to face carrot and his metal bolo ball attached to a cord!

The cord gets wrapped around Carson's hand, he drags Carrot to an old elevator shaft and forces to hold on for dear life as he dangles there. He cannot reach him with his swinging ax and has to come up with Plan B. So, he chops his own hand off!!

Carrot gets whut he deserves and falls to his death!.. Hooray!! Be back tomorrow for more, y'all...

TOM & JERRY - "Rocketeers" (1932)

I was all set to watch a sci-fi Tom & Jerry cartoon with Tom the cat, and Jerry the mouse, and then I found out something else! Cat and mouse were not the original Tom & Jerry, but instead it was these two human oddballs!

So it starts off with T & J getting ready to take a rocket to the moon!
Pretty big plans for 1932!

The rocket trip didn't look promising from the start! The crazy thing is that the little guy is already in there!

As predicted, the rocket goes about 5 feet into the air, and straight down.......

.......To the bottom of the ocean!

Tom and Jerry come in contact with a lot of strange and very large sea life!

Then they meet the mermaids, and forget completely about going into space!
It's a cartoon, so I guess you're not supposed to question why Tom & Jerry can breathe underwater!
I'm pretty sure "Rocketeers" was the inspiration for Jimi Hendrix's "1983 (A Merman I Should Turn To Be)!

Time for the band to get this party rolling!

Tom and Jerry are in mermaid heaven, and perform an impromptu number that should be called "Fish Store!"

The Fish Store just might be a house of ill repute!
Great choreography!

At one point in the song, Tom and Jerry actually share a mouth! They are not kissing, they just share a mouth like Siamese twins are conjoined at the chest.

The boys are hooked on these babes and want no part of  being rescued, and you really can't blame them!!

The more well known cat and mouse version of Tom & Jerry, didn't come around until 1940!

Other famous Tom & Jerry duos include this original drink dating back to the 1820's, a cocktail invented by British journalist Pierce Egan. It is a reference to Egan's 1821 book, "Life in London," or "The Day And Night Scenes of Jerry Hawthorn Esq. And His Elegant Friend Corinthian Tom," and the subsequent stage play titled "Tom and Jerry," or "Life In London . It is a variant of eggnog with brandy and rum added and served hot, usually in a mug or a bowl.

Last, but not least, I present you this pair, who morphed from Tom & Jerry to Simon and Garfunkel and much more fame and fortune in 1964!

The ADVENTURES Of EEGAH!! & TABONGA! - Part 2

Here's part 2 of our adventures, part 1 concentrated on high school, this one takes place from 1965 to the present, after Girls and the British Music Invasion became our main focus...

This is a photo of us (skinny dudes) after we took a trip with my parents and sisters to my aunt's house in the Valley Of The Moon in northern California in our new 1965 Dodge Dart. The Beatles were a huge influence by that time.

Eegah's first car was a 1956 six cylinder stick shift Chevy, he had it painted gray with white rims at Color Galore. Ah, the good old days.

In 1967, my dad bought me a new VW for $2150, he got pissed off when the first thing I did was pull off the hub caps! This was my third car, I had already had a '53 Ford and a '57 Chevy.

Here we are doing some rock star poses in 1967, love this picture!

Eegah!! sent me this Polaroid of him standing in snow in his sandals to show that he was still a weirdo!

I ended up in a print shop in Germany. Here's I am having a little fun!

I also liked to drive my big box around in the barracks to impress everyone!

Then, in the eighties I went to a Halloween party in 1986 as a weird werewolf, and, all I remember is that it was itchy!

Eegah!! came up with this weird costume for a Halloween party around 2005, a triple large size tyvek coverall, a wire belt with hockey masks. When we got there, everyone kept away from us, big time! Clever!

We had our public access show, OFFBEAT, in 1994-5. Our band, Hermanos Guzanos, supplied the music for our Offbeatniks persona for the show. Everything was great until until it took a nose dive after 10 episodes.

Here's the nice poster I made we had for the premiere of our second movie in 2003, SILVER ANGEL vs. THE DEATH ZOMBIES, modeled off a Mexican Neutron flick. Love this one! Anyway, everything was great until we were working on our fourth movie and the whole thing came crashing down, again! Trying to get creative things done in the town we live in is like pulling a newborn's teeth!! It's just plain anti-art.

Forry was the host in our first movie, THE CREEP, in 2001. What a great place to stop. Now, what in the Hell will Eegah!! have for us on Wednesday, I wonder.
