DIE NACKTE UND DER SATAN (The Head) - Lasry/Mattes - "Lilly's Body" (1959)

This is about the last time you're going to see Lilly with her own head, and this is the one last tasty tidbit where body recipient Sister Irene & the unwilling donor's boyfriend meet for the first time back at the Tam--Tam Club. This is a very smooth musical section where you think you can really just lay back & relax, and then just about when you're ready to close your eyes, it comes in with a tight little guitar lead that winds up and slams into about 45 seconds of some of the purest music you're going to come across lately or at least in the last 48 years, and the only way you're going to be able to enjoy this as much as you are going to want to, is to go out & get a copy all of your own. INDESTRUCTIBLE MAN - Albert Glasser - "Lt. Richard 'Dick' Chasen" (1956)

Max Showalter (AKA Casey Adams) plays the part of Police Lt. Richard 'Dick' Chasen in the classic 1956 thriller, "Indestructible Man." Have a listen to this dialogue & see if you think for any reason it might have affected why he was rejected as Ward Cleaver in the "Leave It To Beaver" TV family comedy, even though he did play Ward in the pilot episode of the series. There is a great jazzy quacking horns soundtrack by the formidable Albert Glasser, unfortunately it's almost all totally 'really in the background' music, but you can still enjoy this little piece!

MARS NEEDS WOMEN - Ron Stein - "Strip Club/Lounge/Radio" (1967)

Bubbles Cash whole movie career began and ended in 1967. She did two other films that year besides "Mars Needs Women", "Hip Hot and 21" & "Hot Thrills and Warm Chills." Maybe it had something to do with the Tommy Kirk Midas touch. Directed by no budget specialist Larry Buchanan, with music once again by the unstoppable Ron Stein, this TV movie comes across as some kinda Disney Sci-Fi, except when the Martians decide they need a woman who is a stripper, the movie gets pretty darn sleazy for 1967 TV. Too cool strip club twin sax, hammerin' piano, & crazy slinky guitar music at it's best, topped off with some lounge vibes, a wild little pop song off the radio, & back to the strip club again to take care of that stripper. Have a nice trip!

Mars Needs Women

THIS IS NOT A TEST - Greig McRitchie - "Theme & Credits" (1962)

You know, a lot of this really is an unsung song about musical genius. Here's a small tale of Mr. Greig McRitchie, born on September 28, 1914. His first major work as composer and conductor was on this 1962 film, "This Is Not A Test," then it seems the man needed to take some time off, maybe doing that first movie was a real son of a gun, but he doesn't have any more credits until 1974. From then on he worked on an amazing array of films that is way beyond imagination as orchestrator & composer. "Conan", "Krull", "Off Beat", "Aliens", "Project X" and the list goes on and on til it ends with "Starship Troopers" in 1997. I'd say Mr. McRitchie passed this test just fine!

Don Spruance ended his career in "The Streets of San Francisco", the 1977 TV series entitled "Monkey Is Back!"

THE TERRORNAUTS - Elisabeth Lutyens - "Main Theme" (1967)

Elisabeth Lutyens, the first woman to compose music for a British feature film back in good old 1948, actually composed music for a number of cool flicks besides the Amicus production "The Terrornauts." Nifty titles like "The Skull," "The Earth Dies Screaming" & "Dr. Terror's House Of Horrors" all came from 1965. Busy lady! This is one crazy nut job of a movie, & the opening credits get it off to a good start!

THE SADIST - Paul Sawtell/Bert Shefter - "SOUNDCLIP NO LONGER AVAILABLE" (1963)

Charlie is one of the most sadistic goobers on earth! 

 

Better watch out, Crazy Silent Judy is conjuring up something! 

 

Pretty frisky for cousins! The only real outsider music in "The Sadist" happens when they're working on the car & listening to the radio, when a country stomper comes on the radio & gets crazy Judy all excited as Charlie leers on. From our understanding, in real life, Arch & Marilyn were cousins, which makes their relationship in this movie even weirder! Here's where the car-fixin' radio hoedown was!

  And they just wanted to go to a Dodgers' game, now they can't even believe they're in this movie with these bumpkin freaks!

THE NASTY RABBIT - Arch Hall & The Archers - "Mood Music" (1964)

There's not really much to say about this movie since we respect Arch so much & this film sucks so bad, but we'll always defend the music, because Arch rocks, period! So here you have some pretty swell background music from a couple of the scenes in this stinker, one a jazzier rock piece & one basic country fling! Buy one of Arch's Cd's for yourself for X-Mas & forget the rest! Arch Country Archers
