RE-ANIMATOR / Empire Pictures, Re-Animator Productions - 1985

Here's a super weirdie I saw when it came out, it's a H. P. Lovecraft story all about a medical student that becomes involved in a bizarre experiment in the science of reanimating the dead. What happens next is a rollie coaster ride of laffs blended with lots of splattered blood. BEYOND RE-ANIMATOR, BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR and FROM BEYOND are to follow...

I have a sound clip for your approval, sooooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button located there by our dead head on a tray, NOW, Ralphie The Tarantula!.. Here's a little sample from... RE-ANIMATOR!

Jeffrey Combs plays medical student Herbert West, he has a fascination with the idea of bringing the dead back to life. Here is the serum he believes is the secret to re-animated life.

This is his little workshop of horrors, welcome to the eighties!!

Well, there are some pretty bad side affects but what the Hell, who doesn't like to watch people's heads explode!!

Herbert's nemesis is Dr. Hill, played by David Gale. Welp, Herbert whacks him in the head with a shovel, then goes on to decapitate him and put his head in a tray. Then, the horny old dude decides he needs a cute chick to slobber on!

Jeez, all I did was take a pill to quit smoking!!

I love this shot, wow!.. What really makes it cool is the position of his feets.

Herbert tries to fight this guy off but the damn thing just doesn't play fair!

And... HAVE A FREAKIN' BLOODY HAPPY HALLOWEEN COUNTDOWN!!

I DRINK YOUR BLOOD / Jerry Gross Productions - 1970

Here's a grindhouse classic from 1970 that every horror fan needs to see. It's all about a band of hippies that show up at a town and begin terrorizing the locals. They rape a local girl and give her grandpa some LSD, this deeply bothers the grandson so he gives them meat pies infected with the blood from a rabid dog. They go mad, then begin killing and infecting everyone they can get their hands on!.. Freakin' awesome poster!!

I have a sound clip for your approval, sooooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button located there by our big old bucket of blood, NOW, Ralphie The Tarantula!.. Here's a little sample from... I DRINK YOUR BLOOD!

Here are the hippie Satanists after they crash their van and hike to the small town there. They eventually find a run down empty cabin and make it their own.

After the hippies cause a ton of trouble, our little buddy here decides to get revenge by injecting rabid dog blood into the meat pies they serve them!

You can dig the slurping noises the heathens make as they wolf down the tasty meat pies for us in the sound clip!

It's not long before the infection kicks in, turning the regular jerks into blooming lunatics!

An interesting guy, a dancer, Bhaskar Roy Chowdhury plays the leader of the hippie crew. It's great to see him get it because he's such a creep!

One horny hippie chick leaves their place and finds her way to the cabin of the road crew and infects the Hell out of them!

Just wanted to show this shot because the sign is lots of fun to read!

This fool is in full possession of that axe but not his senses... Luckily, our heroes are walking in water and the crazy one is freaked out by it!

Welp, the hippies start fighting amongst themselves and it gets pretty gruesome!

The guys from the road crew show up and there is one real good defense... AGUA!!

Oh, and... BULLETS! The coppers finally show up and gun down anything that moves. Be back on Wednesday when we continue with Halloween Countdown at The Dungeon!!

TARANTULAS: The Deadly Cargo / Alan Landsburg Productions - 1977

Welp, here's a TV movie about an airplane carrying coffee beans from South America that has some creepy little stowaways, you know, the title... Tarantulas!! The plane crashes near an orange-producing town in California and the cargo of poisonous spiders escape, causing much tumult, screams and death... Like, in the poster!

I have a sound clip for your approval, sooooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button located there by our tarantula cage, NOW, Ralphie The Tarantula!.. Here's a little sample from... TARANTULAS: The Deadly Cargo!

Here's the classic plane carrying the deadly cargo, a good old DC-3 Gooney Bird...

But, during the flight, a bunch of the tarantulas escape from their bags and bite the Hell out of all the crew members.

The plane crashes and the locals in the agricultural community go out to survey the situation.

It stars Claude Akins, owner of the local packing warehouse. He's out there with the rest of the stars milling around... Claude played a lot of sheriffs in his career, he was also General Aldo in BATTLE FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES.

Pat Hingle plays the doctor, another familiar face from the world of TV.

This dude arrives to show off his new CAT cap when one of the little critters sez, hey!

The tarantulas are loose in the countryside and trying to get friendly with some of the girls!

Here's a shot for Eegah!! His first job back in the early sixties was working at a potato packing house... Looks like it's break time!!

Anywho, the guys risk their lives to get rid of the tarantulas from the warehouse. Get this, apparently, the little pests are rendered motionless by the transmitted sound of buzzing bees!

WILL IT WORK??!.. Tune in again on Wednesday when we submit our last post for September!

UNNATURAL ...The Fruit Of Evil / Carlton-Film, Deutsche Styria Film GmbH - 1952

Every now and then we come across a movie from the fifties we haven't done yet, because, that carcass is stripped clean... But, I found this early Euro classic on a compilation DVD set, so, here goes.

I have a sound clip for your approval, sooooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button located there by our crazy cleaning lady, NOW, Ralphie The Tarantula!.. Here's a little sample from... UNNATURAL!

Okay, before we get going... Speaking of unnatural!

Here's Erich von Stroheim as scientist Jacob Brinken, he has some dirty little secrets. Erich, who died in 1956 at age 71, can also be seen in these fine flicks... THE CRIME OF DOCTOR CRESPI, THE LADY AND THE MONSTER, SUNSET BLVD. and THE INFILTRATOR.

All the boys have a crush on the mystery woman seen around the grounds...

Hildegard Knef is the mystery girl, Alraune (original title). Hildegard was also in HYPNOSIS, BLUEBEARD, THE SPY, THE DIRTY DOZEN and THE LOST CONTINENT, all from the sixties.

Jacob Brinken explains how Alraune came into existence, a dirty little story partly explained in the sound clip. The skull belongs to her father who was hung for murder.

This guy is madly in love with Alraune and is shocked at what comes out of the mouth of Brinken and lets loose his disgust concerning the matter.

Check out this old bird, she likes what she sees! It's tough getting old...

C'mon mama, let's dance for the end of the sound clip!!

Here's an interesting shot, of which there are many in this flick.

At the end, Alraune confesses her sins to her lover, and...

She turns to ashes!! Okay, tune in Wednesday when we're back with more from The Dungeon!
