THE SARAH JANE ADVENTURES / "Invasion Of The Bane" - 2007

Sarah Jane Adventures is a spin off of Doctor Who (with Tom Baker) that continues with the character Sarah Jane Smith. So, she is a time-travelling investigative reporter with some special qualities. Sarah is played by Elisabeth Sladen, who worked on a lot of British TV series including sci-fi and fantasy shows.

This was the very first episode, in it, Sarah befriends a new neighbor named Maria. Her and her friend go to a Bubble Shock (a soft drink) event where strange things are happening, like kids quickly getting addicted to it. Sarah follows Maria inside and figures out what's actually going on with the product...

After just moving in, young Maria sees something glowing in her neighbor's yard. She sneaks a peek and finds Sarah communicating with some unearthly being... Like, what the?!

Maria and her friend Kelsey are taken on a tour of the place, where they're constantly handing out free bottles of Bubble Shock!

Sarah follows the kids to the event, and when the time is right (oh, she has a magic lip stick case to help her with certain tasks) she ducks inside the building...

Once inside, Sarah seeks out the head supervisor, Mrs. Wormwood. They have a snarky conversation followed by the demand that Sarah have a taste of Bubble Shock. She refuses the offer and says, I'd rather die first!

Before Sarah leaves the room, she asks Mrs. Wormwood what planet she was from.

Okay, so, Mrs. Wormwood sends out, I guess her brother, to kill Sarah. You can see that they aren't exactly who they seem to be!

As the thing is coming up the stairs, Sarah sprays it with, something! And it changes back to the tour guide at Bubble Shock! He runs away.

Back at the ranch, Mrs. Wormwood is having a conversation with 'mother' what wants to speed up the invasion. You see...

Bubble Shock is an alien drink with ingredients that take over the human mind (drink! drink!) and turns people into pop zombies! Sarah takes the kids and they head back to the toxic Bubble Shock building.

Inside the building, the child that the Bane's have manufactured, and who is now with Sarah, saves the day with a talisman that puts 'mother' in her place. Then, Sarah uses her lip stick case to blow the building sky high, game over, man!

I guess Sarah adopts the boy, but anyway, keep watching the skies because you never know what might drop in from space! Like us, here at The Dungeon!!..

MINIKILLERS PART TWO - "Macabre Heroin Flamenco" (1969)

You know what they say about "one good turn" so this Saturday Night Special is about three of the other "Minikillers" shorts. There's not a lot to go on here, but I found these Super 8 box photos that actually have names on them, so by trying to match the pictures, I think that first one I showed you last week was this one titled "Operation: Costa Brava."

The second one was this one titled "Heroin."

Diana Rigg's nameless character might not be Emma Peel, but she's definitely doing some spying for some reason!

She's watching some people on a boat and just chilling on the beach when it suddenly gets very weird!

Like out of nowhere, she's kind of surrounded by mannequins!

The one standing behind her is extra casual, and reading a newspaper to try and look normal.

All the dummies fall on her, and a buried net she was laying on scoops her up and drags her out to that boat she was spying on!

She escapes from the net, but also loses the covering she had on!

Diana Rigg was a national treasure and in 1994, she was made Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth!

She finds a slicker to slip into, and steals the hoods car to get away!

Before getting back to her own car, she parks the bad guys car in a 'No Parking" area so they get a ticket!

Each one of these silent shorts is approximately ten minutes long, and I think the next one is this one called "Flamenco," but she's wearing a dress in this box collage that she doesn't wear until the next episode, so who really knows?
That ten minute length kind of messes with the theory of showing them in the gas station.

In "Flamenco," the boys with the binoculars are back!

They leave one of those creepy dolls in her car, and this one has a bomb in it!

I guess they didn't remember she had a rear view mirror!
These bozos aren't too hard to outfox!

She unceremoniously tosses henchman Moisés Augusto Rocha off the edge of a small cliff!

If a Deutsche Mark was about equal to a dollar, I'd say it's safe to say that not many poor folk were watching these at 29.99 DM each.

"Macabre" starts off with the boys waiting for her with an open coffin!

After the last picture, you'll find a link where you can watch them all yourself. It just might be the only damn thing good that happened this whole year!

How is it even possible?

EL FANTASMA DE LA CASA ROJA aka PHANTOM OF THE RED HOUSE - 1956

Here's  one we did back in 2007 which had only three photos, now we have the whole story. It's about a millionaire's ghost that watches while his heirs murder each other over his fortune.

It all starts with a knock on the door, you need to get Satan's permission to enter, a night club!

What Mexican movie wouldn't be complete without music, I ax you... This isn't the only guy that can entertain the crowd since there are a number of other acts on the lineup, he just likes to get up close and personal with the pretty ladies there.

And oh boy, nothing like some hot devilish chicks working at the club, but their hubbies (damn!) tell them it's time to leave and go to the reading of their dead relative's will.

The friend and lawyer to the deceased reads the will and Mercedes comes out on top, and it's big time sour grapes for the others. But of course, if anything should happen to her, well, someone else will get the hidden dough.

It doesn't take long before the 'ghost' of the dead guy shows up and tries to stab Mercedes.

Groovie, looks like the old Devil has cooked us up something special. Actually, he's a waiter, ready to serve  a flaming delight to that sweet couple at table 6.

Clavillazo, star of CASTLE OF THE MONSTERS and CONQUISTADOR DE LA LUNA, plays a private detective brought in to help Mercedes. And of course, his logic leaves a lot to be desired.

Our little detective encounters the ghost, and pulls a gun on him!  You know, you can't kill a ghost. Anyway, Clavillazo wants to put handcuffs on him but can't get the job done because holding the gun is preventing him from accomplishing the task. He hands the gun to the dude so that he can put the handcuffs on... Now, what could possibly go wrong?

And, he nearly gets a long blade in the back!

And now two people have been stabbed to death, everyone had better watch out...

Okay, time to chase Mercedes around and around and around... She stops the action like in a cartoon, and gets a sip of water before she calls 'action' again. Then, with a giant ax in hand, the ghostly guy swings and just misses her, demolishing the bannister!

Clavillazo dresses up like the ghost so there are now two of them running around. The real ghost guy gets conked upside his head, putting him out of commission...

Well, if it isn't the lawyer! Thing is, he dressed up like the ghost to keep an eye on the ones that actually committed the murders, and they're going to jail.

Mercedes falls through a trap door, goes down a chute and finds the hidden money, making for a happy ending... We're back tomorrow, so check that out. And, if the blog looks a little weird, don't blame us, blame the 'new' Blogger...
