SINS OF THE FLESHAPOIDS - Bob Cowan - "Nuclear Nuckleheads" (1965)

Okay, you asked for it, so, in an effort to be fair and balanced, I won't tell you that "Sins Of The FLeshapoids" is really, in my final opinion, probably the worst sci-fi film ever made, but what I will tell you, is that "Sins OF The Fleshapoids" makes "Invasion Of The Star Creatures" look like "Forbidden Planet" on steroids x 13!!

Yeah, Yeah, I know, I'm sure this is somebody's favorite movie, but I'm not sure it's available in the hospital gift shop!

Somewhere there is a 16mm film screaming out in pain because of the loss of it's once worthy life, just like a live lobster about to be boiled!! Nice flower arrangement!!

The two 'robots' posed by the wall are The Fleshapoids! Now you know everything you need to know, cause that's the whole story!! Bob Cowan as Xar, is also credited as the music assembler, the weird tempo changes are his, not mine!!

Puffy The Fleshapoid has a moment! I ask you, should this even really be considered a movie??

Finally there is some action!! "This is not my beautiful house, this is not my beautiful wife!!!"

The end is the best part if there ever was a best part, a baby robot is born, oh, how freakin' cute, and the extra best part, the agonizing torture, the excruciating pain that is this movie, is over!!! Where was Andy when we need him??

DAY THE WORLD ENDED / ARC - 1955

So, welcome everbloody, to Saturday Flicktime here at the Dungeon wif' Tabonga and crew... This is a reprise of an older post from a few years back!

"ATTACKED... by a creature from hell!" screams the tagline for this truly classic Corman production released December, 1955!!

Just check out this actor lineup... Paul (BEAST WITH A MILLION EYES/NOT OF THIS EARTH) Birch, Richard (CREATURE WITH THE ATOM BRAIN/BLACK SCORPION) Denning, Lori (REVENGE OF THE CREATURE/HOT ROD GIRL) Nelson, Mike (SWAMP WOMEN/VOODOO WOMAN) Connors, Paul (THE SHE-CREATURE/ATOMIC SUBMARINE) Dubov, Jonathan (MONSTER FROM THE OCEAN FLOOR/IT CONQUERED THE WORLD) Haze, Raymond (DIG THAT URANIUM/INVASION OF THE SAUCER MEN) Hatton and Paul (THE UNDEAD/GHOST OF DRAGSTRIP HOLLOW) Blaisdell as another one of his cool, classic monster creations!

...WHEW!!!

Music is by genius and Dungeon favorite, Ronald Stein, who we have featured here many, many times before... He like, king of the monster movie music around here!

So, here is today's 'earrific' earpiece coming to nearest earbank in you brain!! Give Eegah!! credit for keeping 'em coming! Tabonga pet tarantula, Ralphie, now raising up claw to be pushing big old red 'GO' button and starting ball rolling toward the... DAY THE WORLD ENDED!!

Sorry, stills not that great, from old EP VHS tape.

Day after day the world ended, tough guy Tony and gurlfriend Ruby show up at Maddison ranch, unannounced even!

Tony learn the hard way to watch it, if acting like a jerk!

They lucky because they live in high valley, above radiation...

Look like Paul gots a touch o' the grip!

The gratuitous gurlies pic!

Here are three drawings by Paul Blaisdell of the mutations produced after some of our atomic tests that Louise's dad is showing Hank. Paul was a sci-fi pulp illustrator in the late forties, early fifties, he had a unique style!

Just a little unsettling!

Goodnight, sweet Seymour!

Adele Jergens, as Ruby, does her night club act for everbloody to gander at.

Louise get hypnotized by mutant so they can get good shot for poster art!

Mutant not like the water!

Hank shoot the mutant with pop gun, but, good old mister rain is who kill it!

This is best part of flick! Tony already kill gurlfriend, now he ready to kill Hank and make Louise all his own...

But, he miscalculate and Louise' dad pull out hidden gun and shoot Tony, first in back, then in chest when he turn around to see wha' hoppin! Tony was a total worm, an' totally get what he diserve! Very satisfying!!

This is only the beginning... Only the beginning, you hear me?!

LA DECIMA VITTIMA - Piero Piccioni - "The 10th Victim" (1965)

Eye Candy! It's just that simple!! My feeble olde mind can't keep up with the CGI of today's motion picture industry, that's why I'm stuck in the past, when they didn't mind keeping the camera in one place for more than a few seconds, because the camera angle and background were cool looking! "La Decima Vittima" is a perfect example of what I'm talking about! Based on an original story by Robert Sheckley called "The 7th Victim," I'm not exactly quite sure how it got bumped up to 10!!

It's a fanciful futuristic Pop Art extravaganza right out of the box, and it doesn't let up for a minute! If Director Elio Petri isn't busy smacking you around with Pop imagery like that Caddie, the music by composer Piero Piccioni, and sung by Italian Pop star Mina, soars along in the clouds to keep you plenty distracted! Mina still records today, but supposedly she hasn't been seen in public for something like 20 years!!

So here we are at the "Masoch Club"

Ursula Andress as Caroline Meredith is the main entree on the menu tonight! Trust me, that's quite a pair of guns she has!!

In the future they've got a little cat and mouse game going on with hunters and victims, and if you make it through 10 victories, you get a million dollars, so people are chasing each other all over the place, trapping, shooting and exploding to the delight of the media, kinda like "The Great Race" with lethal weapons!
Caroline even has her own P.R. and management team, and surely, I don't have to tell you who Ursula Andress was!!

The other reigning champion of the hunt is Marcello Mastroianni as Marcello Polletti seen here with his little buddy!!

More homage to Pop with a close up shot of the shelf with "The Phantom" and "Mandrake The Magician" comics predominantly displayed!

Without a doubt, I'm sure the brilliant eye of Cinematographer Gianni Di Venanzo had a lot to do with the whole visual concept!

Marcello is so cool, he is capable of ignoring Caroline while he reads his comic book, and then the game becomes more complicated by the fact that the players happen to end up liking each other!

Marcello was born on Sept 28, 1924, escaped from a prison camp during WWII, worked with Fellini, was quoted as saying "I only exist when I am working on a film," and passed away right before X-Mas in 1996! This film would basically be his only horror or Sci-Fi role!

Marcello's ultra swank and beyond hip pad is built on the beach in what appears to be a 4000 gallon holding tank!

Oh, No, Caroline pushes the wrong button..........

.....Only to reveal Marcello's parents living a very conventional middle class lifestyle hidden behind a secret panel!! Wow!!

It just never stops, how's this for a nice Victorian bedroom?

I hate the term as it is commonly used today, but this was a real Tea Party!!!

I'm not really sure where you expected this to go, but you can relax in knowing that the future is LOVE!!
