HALLOWEEN BAG O' 8mm HORROR MOVIE BOX ART EYE CANDY!

For a nice early bag o' candy, eye candy, I gots a batch of 13 very cool 8mm movie box art to chew on! Happy Halloween to all, and to all... Almond Joy!

What's fun about 8mm box art is that there's usually a kitsch factor going on. With FRANKENSTEIN CONQUERS THE WORLD, he rolled the seven wonders of the world into one!

Here, the MYSTERIOUS DR. SATAN tries to conquer the world with a death-dealing robot...

I used to have two 8mm movies we liked to watch, TARANTULA! was one of them. And, it destroys everything in its path!!

With this title, DOOM OF DRACULA, they changed the name for the mini movie. Obviously, it was taken from HOUSE OF DRACULA.

In TROG, from a million years back, horror explodes into today!.. With Joan Crawford.

Hammer's HORROR OF FRANKENSTEIN uses great colors in this example of box art, nice!

I'm not sure of which movie KING KONG BATTLES THE MONSTERS comes from, I guess you'd have to buy this title to know from where it came!

This HOUSE OF WAX either uses the wrong art, or, the movie is actually NIGHTMARE IN WAX starring Cameron Mitchell... Roll the dice!

Edgar Allen Poe's MASTER OF HORROR is a fine example of kitschy art, bold and brash!

RODAN The Flying Monster was the other 8mm movie I used to have. Both titles I had are lost, left at an ex-girlfiend's house in the late sixties...

SHADOW OF THE WEREWOLF wins the Kitsch Award for this batch of box art! Again, I have no idea which movie this really is. My guess is that it's one of the many Euro flicks starring Paul Naschy.

THE TRIAL OF FRANKENSTEIN is, of course, a mini flicker taken from THE GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN.

THE WOMAN IN THE COFFIN is my favorite piece of box art in this pile. What the Hell movie is this from?!! Great titillating artwork!!

So, we're back tomorrow where we'll continue with our HALLOWEEN COUNTDOWN!!

THE UNKNOWN / Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer - 1927

Welp, it's time to pay a little visit with Mister Monster himself in a wild and crazy silent movie directed by Tod Browning, who doesn't do anything that isn't complicated. It also stars 22 year old Joan Crawford as the love interest.

I got this copy off TCM, it looks like they redid the title and dialogue cards as the best print available isn't that great, they look too modern to me though.

Lon Chaney is showman Alonzo The Armless, knife throwing ace for the circus.

After using a pistol with his feet to shoot beautiful Nanon's dress off, he then tosses knives around her while the stage spins!

Alonzo is in love with Nanon but sees her with the handsome strongman, Malabar.

Then, Alonzo hears her ranting about...

Uh-oh, things aren't what they seem! Alonzo's little pal Cojo helps him out of his harness after a show, revealing his arms.

It also comes out that Alonzo is hiding from the police from some earlier crime, and, he has a deformity of his thumb. A little detail in the story Lon probably had fun creating.

Great shot as Alonzo relaxes in his room, he's still using his feet while smoking! It's amazing to watch Lon effortlessly use his skills in this scene.

Alonzo wants Nanon bad! He knows how she feels about men's hands, so, he figures out a shocking plan to win her over!.. He blackmails a surgeon into... REMOVING HIS ARMS!!! What guys won't do for love, jeez!

After some time has passed, Alonzo has returned to the circus, Nanon updates him on her love life. Her and Malabar are madly in love, she has finally matured and is now all woman!

Put yourself in Alonzo's shoes, whoa, the look on his face says it all...

Rich people always love a good show when someone might lose their life in a death defying event like this one...

Malabar is holding back two horses on tread mills while the crowd goes wild.

There is a lever that will stop the tread mills in case of emergency, so, Alonzo's plan is to pull the lever and have the horses rip Malabar's arms off. There is a weird theme about arms going on here...

All Hell breaks loose and Nanon tries to help her lover while nearly being trampled.

Alonzo flips out and pushes Nanon out of the way only to be the one to get trampled! It makes you flinch when the horse comes down on Alonzo, it looks real...

THE KARATE KILLERS / Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer - 1967

We're closing in on the end of 2014, so, here's my last post of the year... It stars the Men From U.N.C.L.E. in one of their movie offshoots from their popular TV series. It also features a slew of actors in cameo roles and the sixties pop group, Every Mother's Son, doing their hit tune "Come On Down To My Boat" as heard in the sound clip.

Eegah!! sent over a little sound clip from this flick for our earjoyment, sooooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button located there by our killer karate chopping robot, NOW, Ralphie The Tarantula!.. Here's a taste of... THE KARATE KILLERS!

Our boys are down in the lab preparing fruit smoothies before they hit the old spy trail...

Here they are with their boss, Alexander Waverly, played Leo (TARANTULA and TOPPER) G. Carroll, they're going over the latest data on world events.

Herbert Lom is the bad guy, he wants something Joan Crawford has. Joan probably worked for half a day on this one, she turns up dead rather quickly at the beginning.

Jeez, what can you say about this guy here?! Can you believe that Telly's holding a cigarette instead a Tootsie Pop?.. Well, I can't!

You see, movies gave the guys a chance to hang out with a near nude chick while they race around, something they definitely couldn't do on the TV series!

Then, there's the club scene where Every Mother's Son is playing their hit song for the crowd.

Here's a goofy fun pic showing Illya after he gets knocked into the fountain!

Part of the Bad Guy Crew is this dressed-in-all-black motorcycle gang of maniacs.

Illya is always getting himself into some harrowing situation! Will Napoleon be able to save him before he gets one on those spikes stuck in his skull?!!.. Gee, I wonder.

I've included this still because when I was stationed at Fort Lewis in 1968 I drove one of these Ford Econoline vans around.

The dial, simple, yet efficient!.. EVERYBODY RUN!!

The plot's all about creating gold through a chemical equation, but, we all know gold can only be created by a Super Nova explosion. Besides, if we could all make gold, it'd be worthless!

Oops!!.. You know, something always goes wrong with those damn gold making machines!

Dustin Rhodes makes a cameo appearance as Gold Dust as we draw the curtain on this production...

Be back on Wednesday when Eegah!! will present our last post o' the year!
