DR. WHO - Season 2, Episode 30 - "The Executioners" (1965)

"Dr. Who" is one of the most popular, successful, and long running TV shows of all time! It's my job to remind you that it's out there just in case you forgot, and feel like doing some kind of six month, 24 hour a day marathon any time soon!

This particular episode was part of a series called "The Chase," and was titled "The Executioners!" It aired on May 22, 1965!

Don't you just love it?

"Dr. Who" first aired on November 23, 1963 and then ran 26 seasons straight all the way to 1989! There have been movie spinoffs, and of course the present day version is way popular too!

Just to show you the meager beginnings of what has become a real phenomenon! Doot doo doo doo! TARDIS!!

The first Dr. Who was William Hartnell! William had been acting since 1932, and finished his career with 132 episodes as Dr. Who! What a way to go out! The current version of "Dr. Who" just got finished with it's 11th version of the Doctor as played by Matt Smith, and Series (Season) 8 will be airing the end of this year with Peter Capaldi in the role of the good Doctor!

Jacqueline Hill was Barbara Wright and/or Lexa from 1963 to 1980! I love her extravagant outfit! I just got a new computer a couple of days ago, I know just how she feels!

The mighty men commanding the controls of those evil Daleks were Robert Jewell, Kevin Manser, John Scott Martin, and Gerald Taylor!

The music in "Dr. Who" was created by Dudley (The Tomorrow People) Simpson, and Peter Hawkins and David Graham were the guys who came up with the voice effects for The Daleks! They should win some kind of award for creating the most obnoxious voices ever, and it hardly seems possible, but voice # 2 is even more annoying that # 1! Equalization and Ring Modulation combined with a 30 HZ Sine Wave, that'll do it every time! Dr. WHO is everywhere, go get some!

Don't forget that there are a ton of BBC-sanctioned novels out there covering all the Doctors, as well as full-fledged audio dramas with the original cast!

By the way, Dudley Simpson appears on-camera as the orchestra conductor in the episode "The Talons of Weng-Chiang"...

There's a wonderful movie called, "An Adventure in Space and Time" that chronicles the beginnings of Doctor Who. It's a must see for fans of the series.

OK, Jacqueline Hill played Barbara Wright on Doctor Who from 1963 to 1966. She played "Lexa" (a very different character) in one story, 4 episodes, on Doctor Who in 1980. From 1966 to 1980, she was not on the show.

The late John Scott Martin played daleks opposite all the classic Doctors. I always enjoy when he shows up on camera out-of-dalek, as he does as a comic street wino in the musical film of Little Shop of Horrors, and as a pirate-accountant in Terry Gilliam's The Crimson Permanent Assurance in Monty Python's The Meaning of Life.

I knew there were tons of people more knowledgeable than myself on the subject of "Dr. Who!" I just wanted to throw at least one episode out there! Thanks to all for the fact updates and added info!
