THE RETURN OF COUNT YORGA / Peppertree Productions Inc. - 1971

Welp, here's our last post for 2013, it's the follow up to the original feature from a year earlier, the Count has relocated to San Francisco from LA where he hopes things go better for him this time. One tagline reads... He's The Ultimate Date... From HELL!

Eegah!! sent over a neat little soundclip from this flick, sooooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button there next to the bloody vampire dentures, NOW, Ralphie The Tarantula! Here's our audio offering for... THE RETURN OF COUNT YORGA!

There's a costume party at the local school and Cynthia Nelson is voted queen of the show. Cynthia's played by the popular Mariette Hartley, the cast is made up almost completely of television actors.

The Count makes an appearance and aids Cynthia after she cuts her finger on a piece of broken glass. I remember when I worked in North Hollywood around 1995, about 10 of the workers there were in a vampire cult (they were very open about it) and actually drank blood as part of their membership! One day at a meeting a very thin vampire dude fainted, our manager pulled some cash out of his wallet and told someone to go get him a sandwich from Subway!!

The Count is driven around in his fancy British automobile.

He digs watching vampire movies on TV.

And, he likes to entertain his guests after the sun goes down!

Crosses don't work that well when you're in quicksand, as the reverend finds out the hard way!

The coppers show up at the Count's house only to be attacked by a pack of homely, hungry vampire girls!

Just as the Count is ready to convert Cynthia into a living dead, he hears gunshots in his new home, the orphanage seen in the title still.

The Count kicks this dude down the stairs in this interesting shot!

Cynthia ends up putting that medieval axe through the Count's evil heart, doin' him in for good!

But, the guy there to save her got bit by the Count and now Cynthia's on the menu again!

HAPPY NEWK YEAR, EVERBLOODY!!!

  1. I don't know the movie well, but the detective on the right in that one photo is Craig T. Nelson.

  2. Thank you, but actually it had to be pointed out to me by someone. Even though I've always had the Famous Monsters issue with the two COUNT YORGA films (# 91), and it even has the still of him getting attacked (of course he wasn't well-known yet, so his name's not in the caption).
As a huge COACH fan, that's always been interesting to me, so I should try to see the movie (I've never seen it beginning to end).
