THE THREE STOOGES In "Dizzy Detectives" - 1943

Here we go with one wild episode with our favorite guys, the Stooges. In today's adventure, they quit their jobs as carpenters and become policemen, only to go up against some crooks who have a pet gorilla (played by Crash Corrigan) who commits burglaries for them, and keeps away anyone who comes snooping around their antique shop where it's hiding out.

The boys watch as Mr. Dill, the head of the citizens league, demands that the police chief (Bud Jamison) capture the rampaging gorilla, or there will be Hell to pay next election! Love to watch the Stooges as they digest what's going on.

The boys go to Gypsom Good Inc. Antiques after they get a lead. As they look for the pass key to get in (it's in Curly's pocket), a fearsome shape appears through the glass, it opens the door...

After locating the pass key, they turn around and get spooked by the door being open and gingerly enter the room.

The boys only have two guns so Moe and Larry set off the search the place as Curly keeps guard, he sits down in a rocking chair. After missing the cat's tail like 15 times with the rocker, he nails it!

The cat screams out, Curly jumps up and calls for Moe and Larry to come running, he just heard a woman scream.

In a back room, the gorilla takes a female mannequin figure and tosses it on the floor.

While Curly's telling Larry and Moe about the screaming woman, they look down and see the mannequin laying there and jump onto Curly!

This part is actually pretty funny, Curly's hiding under a fur and when he pulls it down to see what's going on, there's a derby stuck on his foot and he thinks it's another person.

After the ape bends the barrels of their guns, they realize that it's really a gorilla, not someone just wearing a gorilla suit.

Here's a rare shot of Curly doing his 'woob' break dance!

Then we find out what's going on, Dill is behind a scheme to make the police chief look bad, win the police chief election, then take over the city using the gorilla to commit robberies!

The boys overhear the men talking and confront them, which leads to a free for all!

Curly donkey kicks this crook into a moose trophy's antlers where he can safely rest.

Dill gets his hands around Curly's throat just before the giant pipe wrench Curly threw ricochets off the wall and conks the bad guy in the noggin, but good!

Then Moe and Larry think Curly got his head chopped off by a guillotine in the shop, they scream bloody murder after focusing in on the mannequin head laying there, courtesy of the gorilla.

The big ape finds and chugs down a whole bottle of freaking nitroglycerin!

Curly has had enough of the gorilla and charges it with his head down.

And the place blows sky high, Curly picks up the ape's head and it growls at him, and the boys run off, bringing the story to an end...

DEEP IN THE FOREST (2022)

Jeremy Dylan Lanni's new film "Deep In The Forest" is now out and streaming almost everywhere. Here's a place that will lead you to all the different streaming services. I watched it on Amazon Prime for $3.99, and it's hard to beat a deal like that!

"Deep In The Forest" is a thinking person's film, so if thinking makes your head hurt, you might just want to watch some reality TV shows instead!

This is going to be brief, because if I were to tell you anything about this film, I'd have to tell you everything, and that just ain't gonna happen, because you need to find out for yourself.
If you want to know the particulars about any of the people involved, then go to the movie's IMDB page.

Life's a game and every decision you make can be a gamble. Big or small, try to make the right choices in your life!
That's all I have to say!

A NIGHTMARE / Silent Horror Short - 1896

Georges Melies directed 532 shorts between 1896 and 1913, he had 186 acting credits, 94 credits as producer, 45 writing credits, 25 credits as production designer, 12 credits as editor, 9 credits as cinematographer, 9 credits for special effects, plus a few others... WOWZERS!!

So, it starts when our sleeper wakes up and finds a cute woman dressed in a toga at the foot of his bed, what luck!

And when he's ready to put the make on the comely bedsitter, she changes into a black Dixieland banjo player, apparently a nocturnal illusion come to mess with him.

The guy stands up and hovers over the perplexed sleeper, banjo ready to strum.

Our sleeper jumps up to confront the creepy figure, but...

The Dixieland dude changes into a clown! And we all know that clowns are among the scariest of all the things to appear in dreams, rather, nightmares!

The clown goes over to the balcony and disappears...

The man points at the full Moon in the night sky.

Suddenly, the Man in the Moon appears there and almost chews off the man's fingers before he pulls them away!

The man has a little conversation with the big guy, before...

The Man in the Moon goes back in the sky but the three characters he previously encountered are back out on the balcony, now what?

The clown and the banjo player come in and start pestering the man, and it's pure mayhem!..

Our sleeper wakes up with a start and examines his bedroom for the creeps who invaded his dream. And after he finds nothing...

He decides to just go back to sleep. Love these old shorts, hey, this one was made 126 years ago! That's a long damn time, I have a little trouble wrapping my head around that fact.

THE GIRL FROM U.N.C.L.E. - "Mother Muffin's Affair" (1966)

Tonight's Wild Wednesday presentation is Episode 03 of the TV show "The Girl From U.N.C.L.E." from 1966.

Obviously, "The Girl From U.N.C.L.E." was a spinoff of "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." and almost as obvious is that it wasn't nearly as good, but, that being said, this episode is pretty damn entertaining.

The story is set is jolly olde England, as is reflected in the title "The Mother Muffin Affair."

Stefanie (Experiment In Terror) Powers was April Dancer aka "The Girl From U.N.C.L.E." in all 29 episodes. Stefanie is still working today!

Leo G. Carroll reprises his role as Mr. Waverly in "The Man From U.N.C.L.E."

And Robert Vaughn makes a special guest appearance as Napoleon Solo

But the real reason you want to watch this show is to see Boris Karloff as Mother Muffin!

Bernard Fox has the role of Mother Muffin's bumbling henchman Rodney Babcock. Bernard Fox has been in many, many TV shows, from "The Monkees" to "Pee-Wee's Playhouse," "Bewitched," and "Night Gallery."

A light bulb correctly inserted is a good way to keep an assailant quiet for a while!

Mother Muffin and Rodney are an odd coupe to be sure!

Probably the strangest thing about this whole performance is that Boris as Mother Muffin is not a man dressed up like a woman.

Mother Muffin IS a woman!

Mother Muffin is quite attracted to Napoleon Solo, and feels really bad that she has to kill him!

If April Dancer is not careful about what she says, Mother Muffin might wash her mouth out like she did with this other woman, and not with soap and water, but with sulfuric acid instead.

Well, this is a fine predicament!

The whole story was based on having to keep this young lady from the clutches of Mother Muffin, and get her into the arms of her powerful Father, and after many trials and tribulations, it finally happens.
Once again, I'd like to say Danke to Lord Litter in Berlin for this recommendation!
