ULTRAMAN - "Cry Of The Mummy" (1966)

This week it's a Miira No Sakebî Wednesday in The Dungeon, aka "Ultraman - Cry Of The Mummy."............

.......So do whatever you have to do to relax, because this might be a bit difficult to fathom, even though it happened over 50 years ago!

Dodongo is also one of the bosses in The Legend Of Zelda video game, a reptilian monster usually found in caves and volcanic environments.
Gee, I wonder where they got that idea from!

This artwork is pretty cool!

After unearthing this Mummy, one of the guys says something like, "So this is what humans looked like 7000 years ago?"

The scientist geniuses shoot the Mummy full of electricity, which turns out to not be such a good idea!

 What?
Sometimes you just gotta wonder why they need sub-titles!

 This shot, and ................

............This shot, just scream Universal Horror to me!!

AAAHHH!
Mummy gonna get you!

How Cool! The Science Patrol guys drive a Corvair!

Oh, Boy! This ain't some normal Mummy stumbling around, this guy has got some extra zap power to worry about!

They put the Mummy out of commission, but that causes this Dodongo character to bust out of the side of a mountain! I hope I don't hurt anybody's feelings, but this is a seriously goofy looking monster!

I like this shot a lot!

The Science Patrol tries the quadruple zap theory!

They disposed of the Mummy easily enough, but dealing with a big monster like Dodongo means they need to summon Ultraman onto the scene!

Ultraman and Dodongo duke it out, and that's what the rest of the show is, a Japanese version of the Hokey Pokey! That's what it's all about!

SANTO EN LA VENGANZA DE LA MOMIA / Mummy With A Bow And Arrows - 1971

So, this is my last Mummy flick I have in my collection, Eegah!! will have to take Mummy Fever to its conclusion, I'm all Mummied Out... In today's tale, Santo is enlisted for an expedition to the lost tomb of Nonoc, an Aztec warrior. It's a cursed tomb and the dead warrior had been entombed and cursed for loving a maiden designated for the gods' use. Arriving at the tomb, they find a scroll which explains that, by entering, they are now officially cursed. Nobody attaches much importance to the announcement, which is a mistake they make. Because shortly thereafter, the party is being stalked and killed off by the avenging mummy, or so it seems.

Here's the gang in the jungle, on their expedition in search of the lost tomb of Nonoc. Looks like everyone's in a good mood so far, we'll see how long that lasts!

After searching the tomb, they locate the mummified body of Nonoc. They take the dead warrior back to their camp for further inspection.

In a flashback, we see Nonoc with his lover, which is a forbidden sin because of their social status. Before Nonoc is captured, the maiden is stabbed to death!

Then, members of the expedition start to get knocked off, with an arrow in the chest...

Time for a laff... One of the guys is crying from the terror, so, he wipes the tears from his eyes using the other guy's beard!

One of Santo's pals does not believe that the Mummy is coming back to life to kill the people in the expedition, so, he takes a knife and stabs the mummy a number of times to prove his point... The damn thing is freakin' DEAD!!

So, if the mummy's dead, why does this guy keep showing up with his bow and quiver of arrows?!.. Something's not quite adding up here.

Besides all that, Santo has to defend himself from brutes like this guy with a big knife!

Oh, and by the way, Santo has a love interest in this one, and Susana is her name...

But, the avenging mummy is still on the prowl, he adds another kill to his list of victims...

By this time, Santo knows that the supposed mummy is actually not, he's just someone trying to steal all the priceless scrolls from the gang. So, time for a big old fight.

After a struggle, the mummy tries to impale Santo with a spear, but, our mighty hero turns the point into the mummy and viola, the thing is dead!

And wouldn't you know it, the mummy is none other than someone pretending to be on Santo's side the whole time!

We'll end our tale with Santo kicking more ass in the ring, bringing things to a happy ending. I'm surprised that the kid isn't looking a little more to his right... We're back on Wednesday with even more craziness, here, at The Dungeon!!..

VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA - "The Mummy" (1967)

Welcome back to The Saturday Night Special Mummy Madness Cavalcade in The Dungeon!

This was Season 03, Episode 20 of "Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea," and  for obvious reasons, it was called
"The Mummy."

The basic premise is they need to deliver this Mummy-filled sarcophagus back to somewhere in the Middle East ASAP to avert a War!
But the Mummy has other ideas!

No Master, no burning Tanna leaves, this Mummy is an independent contractor! I'm not quite sure why he wants to spoil this party, that element was never quite explained! He's just on a destructive tear, and is Hellbent on not getting delivered to back where he came from! Maybe he's a wanted man!

Looking pretty cool right about here, William Kelley is the man behind the bandages!
What an interesting guy! William had only five acting credits, including this one, and in the 40's, he was the man in the skeleton costume in two "Three Stooges" episodes, and he was also the man who played The Ghost in William Castle's "13 Ghosts!"

It still looks pretty silly to see a Mummy aboard the Seaview! In this scene, he's looking for the latrine!

So just like Vampires, writers make up their own set of rules when writing Mummy stories!

This Mummy is really strong, and these two guys are complete idiots for trying to grapple with it. I love this shot because the guy in the back looks like he's getting a face full of something!

That didn't work out too well!

One of this Mummy's powers is making guys he fought with totally forget what happened! I have no idea how or why he has this power, but he does!

He has also taken over the Captain's will somehow too, and while the Mummy is rummaging and rampaging around, the Captain is doing all kinds of destruction to the Seaview too, but nobody knows who is doing it!

 This part's cute!
The Mummy is hiding from Kowalski like in a kid's game of hide and seek, but he's not very good at it, because he's a freakin' Mummy!

When the Mummy attacks, Kowalski pushes the panic button, and finally gets somebody's attention!

The Captain destroyed the circuit board and the Seaview is headed into a nosedive.
Now the sub is damaged inside and out, and there's a Mummy on the loose causing all kinds of havoc!

After each encounter with the Mummy, somebody tries to shoot it to no avail, so the Admiral comes up with a plan to nuke it!

The Mummy has now sustained a fair amount of damage and ain't looking that suave and debonair any more!

You can't shoot it, but you can shock the Hell out of it! Go figure!
I guess if there's nothing left but Mummy Chicharonnes, he can't do much more harm to anybody!

"Oh Wow, did you see that? Big tough Mummy burnt up like a little bitch!"

"There are some things that are better left unexplained."
And you can take that to the bank!
