DECOY - Episode #25 - "High Swing" (1958)

It's a Lucky 7-11 Wholesome Wednesday in The Dungeon, that is, wholesome if you consider murder and heroin addiction wholesome, which oddly enough, a lot of people do these days!

"DECOY" was on TV for what they considered one season in 1957 and 1958, but that one season consisted of 39 episodes!

The reason I was interested in watching "DECOY" was because Dungeon fave Beverly Garland as New York City policewoman Casey Jones, is the star! Here's just only two reasons to love Beverly Lucy Fessenden aka Beverly Garland, "It Conquered The World," and "Not Of This Earth!" Case closed! And if that's not enough, then throw in "The Alligator People!"

Episode # 25 that aired on March 31, 1958 was a sweet and sour story titled "High Swing."
Casey Jones is having to escort a young lady to the hospital in the ambulance because she has seemingly overdosed on heroin, but....in her dying words she says all she did was drink some coffee.

There have been a string of robberies in the neighborhood, so Casey sets up as a decoy in a local dive. In an effort to draw attention to herself, she steals a guy's wallet, and takes off!

She goes down the street and pretends to hide in a doorway.

The perp whose attention she was trying to get catches up to her and offers her a business proposition!

So, it turns out the man's wife is crippled from a circus accident! She explains to Casey that she was a high flying trapeze artist, and one night she looked down, and her husband, the dirty scoundrel, was with another woman, and she missed her catch, fell, and has been paralyzed from the waist down ever since! Her husband has been been trying to make it up to her ever since, because this is really a sad love story! Edith Atwater is the lady in the wheelchair, Lily Flagler. Edith had an amazing career that included films like "The Body Snatcher," "Mr. Sardonicus," "Strait-Jacket," and "Die Sister, Die!"

"Dr. Cyclops" himself, the equally amazing Albert Dekker, has the role of the husband Otto Flagler!

Otto's plan is that Casey will go out and entice some guy to come with her, and Otto will hide behind the door, and jump out and put a sleeper hold like this on the guy! Otto is an expert in Judo, but............he has to be really careful, because he accidentally killed a guy one time!

It's finally time to put the plan into action. Otto has no idea that the victim is really a cop, and Beverly is looking as gorgeous as ever!

After the job is done, and back at the Flagler's apartment, Casey finds a picture of the girl that worked there before her in the closet. The bad news is that it's the same girl who overdosed in the opening scenes. That girl was played by Zohra (Posse From Hell, Hey, Let's Twist) Lampert who just had her 81st birthday last May 13th.

They use a lot of head shots in "DECOY" like this, so I thought I would too!

They were just doing it because after the accident Lily Flagler got hooked on painkillers, and later heroin, so Otto was just out robbing people to get the junk for his wife who was in a lot of pain. Lily brings out some coffee to share, but this time the heroin was in her and Otto's cups!

It's really a bittersweet love story, but did they really have to end it with Bev and a freaky clown portrait? I guess so. Anybody who has an Amazon Prime account can watch all 39 episodes for no extra charge. It was a 30 minute show, so without commercials, they run about 26 minutes, and it really goes by fast! You really can't lose, except for the clown part!

THE OUTER LIMITS: The Man Who Was Never Born / Season 1 Episode 6 - 1963

Here we go!.. A 20th Century astronaut, caught in a time warp, and a hideously malformed future Earthling go back in time hoping to change history. They target a young woman before she can give birth to the scientist who creates a bio-warfare agent which ravages the future Earth and all humans!

This classic episode stars Martin (SPACE: 1999) Landau, Shirley (183 acting credits, still working) Knight and John (big brother of Tim) Considine.

Unknown to Captain Reardon, he has just passed through a time warp in space and is preparing to land back on Earth...

But, things aren't quite the same as he remembered, like, that freak thing right there!

Andro, in a library to verify the event, explains to the captain about what has caused the mutations and sent the world into turmoil. It's all because of one man's bio-warfare creation!

The captain decides to take Andro back to the past to show everyone what the future holds for them if they do not prevent the event from happening. But, during the flight when the ship passes through the time warp again, the captain disappears and Andro is now by himself!

The ship lands in a beautiful area in the woods, a young woman is seen in a boat on a lake.

Andro has the power to make himself appear as a normal human being through hypnosis. He has followed Noelle into the inn where she's staying and talks with her. Noelle is the future mother of the man who invents the bio disease!

Andro gets a room at the inn and the landlady sees him in his normal state for a moment and is shaken by what she thinks she saw!

This is Lt. Cabot, he's engaged to Noelle, he has the weekend off and visits her at the inn. Andro tries to convince him not to marry Noelle, and there could be dire consequences if he does. Lt. Cabot doesn't like where this is going and turns hostile toward Andro.

Soon after that, it's wedding day at the inn... During the ceremony though, Andro runs in and disrupts it before the vows are given. Andro runs away and everyone sees him as the deformed creature. Noelle follows him as the others try and figure out what just happened!

In the woods, Noelle confesses to Andro that she loves him and not Cabot. She wants to go with him, back to the future...

Andro needs to make up his mind quickly, because, Lt. Cabot and his buddies are armed, on their way, and they mean business!

Andro grabs Noelle and gets her in the ship during a barrage of bullets. Then, they blast off, it's back into space they go...

And wouldn't you know it, here's where the title comes in, Andro disappears after going through the time warp again, because, you know, he was... The Man Who Was Never Born! So, check in again on Wednesday for more Dungeon Scratch!

ROCK 'N' ROLL NIGHTMARE - THOR - "Arch Angel" (1987)

The Prom is over, and now it's time for drunken madness and the "Rock 'N' Roll Nightmare" to begin!
Welcome to The Dungeon, Let's rock!

The sad thing is that this is probably one of the best movies I've seen in awhile!

Get it straight right away, and you won't need to know much more! This is a movie about a Canadian Heavy Metal dude known as THOR! His complete name is Jon Mikal Thor!

If I remember right, there was a story, but does it really matter?
We're talkin' about THOR here!

This is the place where I would put up a soundclip in the old days, but just go do a YouTube search for Thor or "Rock'N' Roll Nightmare" and I'm sure you'll find something unbeliebvable!

So let's get this death match started!
It's Thor vs. The Devil!
Place your bets at the window!

For being from such a hot spot, the Devil is actually pretty cool!

But... Is all that evilness enough to put up with the likes of THOR?

THOR and I both say Hell no! Go back where you belong!

"Rock 'N' Roll Nightmare" is 83 minutes long! I was lucky to see a version that had been edited down to 34 minutes! This is an issue I talk about all the time! At 34 minutes, "Rock 'N' Roll Nightmare" kills it, but at 83 minutes, it would be a suckfest!

Do you really think The Devil has even a remote chance against THOR?

Am I the only one in the world that notices how much THOR looks like Farrah Fawcett?

Eat shit and die Beelzebub, you offal sumbitch!!

In an effort to get more viewers, "Rock 'N' Roll Nightmare" was also released  in the UK as "The Edge Of Hell!" I'm not sure it worked!
