ELVIRA: Mistress Of The Dark / New World Pictures - 1988

It's time to lighten up a little, so, here's our gal Elvira in her movie about an inheritance from her uncle in New England, and, well, all the amenities that goes along with all that!

Elvira finds out about the inheritance and ends up on a game show, then, wins the big prize!

She sets off for Las Vegas in her monsterized black 1960 Thunderbird with heel to the pedal.

I have a sound clip for your approval, sooooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button located there by our Elvira poster collection, NOW, Rufus The Gnat!.. Here are some moments from... ELVIRA: Mistress Of The Dark!

Back in New England, Elvira decides to hang out in the local hot spot, hope you're old enough to get the joke here...

Welp, while there, she cools off two local sleaze balls and then gets in the face of the Amazon waitress!.. Fun place.

Later, she punks out her pet poodle, par for the course... Totally!

She finds a book that tells her back story and remembers being a cute little witch baby!

She's not too hip on the idea of being burned at the stake!

But, her beau tosses her the magic ring and she unwittingly unleashes evil forces from the Moon!

So, it's up to mighty Ramvira to deal with the demonic possessed priest who wants the ring!

Our Mistress Of The Dark uses her awesome boobs to bust through the chained fence!

And, this crawling hand is ready to give her such a pinch! Eegah!! has more for you tomorrow!

DER FÄLSCHER VON LONDON - Martin Böttcher - "The Forger Of London" (1961)

It's time for another edition of Edgar Wallace Wednesday down in The Dungeon!
Headed into the holidays, and you don't know what to give that someone special, well, then it might just be time to start thinking Edgar Wallace, the gift of writing that keeps on giving!

The original title of the film is "Der Fälscher Von London" and is based on the Edgar Wallace novel titled "The Forger!"

Siegfried (The Brain) Lowitz as Oberinspektor Bourke pretty much steals the show!

A most uncomfortable marriage is arranged between Hellmut (FBI Operation Yellow Viper) Lange as Peter Clifton, and Karin (You Only Live Twice) Dor as his newly betrothed spouse Jane Clifton!

And there's a grand after wedding party that features some cool music by one of my favorite movie soundtrack composers, Maestro Martin (Dead Sexy) Böttcher!

This looks like a fine place to go on a honeymoon if you are a lonely vampire!
Schloss Herdringen (Herdringen Castle) is a castle in the German town of Arnsberg! It was built from 1844 to 1853!

This happy honeymoon couple is going to have to do some work on this relationship no doubt!

She's even got a separate bedroom! This marriage is going to require a lot of damage control!

Atmosphericalatious!

Dungeon Darlin' Karin Dor does a great job of not knowing what the Hell is going on!

Not everybody is so happy about this marriage, first it's weapons........

.............Next it's dead bodies!

Eddi Arent makes a brief appearance as another one of his patented annoying characters, and then reappears at the end!

Karin Dor rocks this floral print!

My, my, how mobile communication has progressed over the past few years!

More than anything, "The Forger Of London" is a film about characters!

And more characters!

And even more characters!

Characters and atmosphere, that says it all!
Most of these Edgar Wallace films are available from The Trash Palace, or Sinister Cinema (Who are having a great sale right now with 12 movies for 98 bucks!) That makes for some great cheap gift giving, if you know what I mean!

FRANKENSTEIN / Universal Pictures - 1931

It may be hard to believe that in all the years we've been doing this blog that we missed this choice title, so, here it is... I have not watched it for many years and when I made the sound clip I noticed that the music had not yet evolved into the classic sound it achieved in the following years.

I have a sound clip for your approval, sooooo, you can push the big red 'GO' button located there by our Aroura monster model collection, NOW, Ralphie The Tarantula!.. Here's a little sample from... FRANKENSTEIN!

The program begins with our host laying down some warnings for the weak of heart.

Monster maker Henry Frankenstein and his helper, Fritz, go shopping at the cemetery to pick out a prime corpse for their experiments. Colin Clive is Frankenstein and Dwight Frye is Fritz.

Henry's lab was pretty high tech for the time, everything you'd need to reanimate the body.

After the deed is done, Henry flips out and compares himself to God!

But, God has created a monster and everyone will pay for it. And, if you have a heart, please pity the poor monster.

Things start to get deadly after Fritz constantly torments the monster.

After the monster escapes into the countryside, he thinks a small girl is a flower and tosses her into the lake, where she drowns. Dungeon pal Michael Mark is the father. In shock, he sadly carries the limp body of his daughter through town.

The violence is nonstop and the monster heads to the mill for refuge. The town's citizens grab their torches and surround the mill.

It's a fiery end for the poor monster as he succumbs to the flames at the end. But, don't worry, our big guy will return more times than you can count!
